At the helm of the Hatteras Yachts 63 GT Enclosed Flying Bridge, you will feel a surge of power. The elevated view and 2,800 iron horses underfoot conspire to inspire, and if this predator of the ocean doesn’t get the testosterone flowing through your veins, nothing will. Let’s go take a ride – you’ll see what we mean.
A pair of CAT C32 ACERT diesels will push the 63 GT to a top-end of over 40 knots. The massive cockpit is over 170 square feet, and can be arranged with a number of different units such as freezers, ice makers, and stowage compartments.
Feel the power? Yeah - we thought so. Note the gigantic electronics flat, with room for multiple MFD's of virtually any size. The enclosed bridge can also be fitted out with a number of comfort-enhancing features, like a wetbar with an icemaker.
As is the case with all Hatteras Yachts, the flavor of the interior can be customized to match the taste of the owner. The GT63 EFB is built with a resin-infused hull, and closed cell foam coring in the deck and superstructure. This allowed Hatteras to shave 10,000 pounds off the weight of yesteryear's model of the same size, while maintaining strength and structural integrity.
A stroll up a circular staircase takes you from the saloon to the enclosed bridge. Not only does the circular staircase add to the decor, it's also a more effective use of space than a traditional staircase.
Arrangements are available with four staterooms, three staterooms, and an optional office space. Either way, there are three heads. Shift to a galley-down arrangement, and crew's quarters can also be added into the mix.
The captain doesn't have to ride alone; there's plenty of seating and entertaining area on the enclosed bridge, so the entire crew can enjoy elevated views.
Note the bookmatched grains and curvaceous window trim, in the galley and saloon. North Carolina is famous for its craftsmen and carpenters, and Hatteras Yachts takes full advantage of this fact - you won't find better joinery work on any competitor.
The Hatteras 63 GT cruises in the 35 knot range. The boat's convex entry and variable-degree deadrise - along with over 50 tons of displacement - mean you can maintain this cruising speed in conditions that will force other yachts to slow down or remain at the dock.
With the ability to fish, cruise, or merely tear across the ocean’s surface at speeds in excess of 40 knots, the Hatteras 63 GT Enclosed Fly Bridge is a yacht that projects power – so take the helm, and feel the surge.
