Sunreef Yachts is preparing to present the first model from its new Supreme range of catamarans at the Singapore Yacht Show in early April. The builder is promising no less than “an audacious line of yachts and superyachts designed to become the world’s most comfortable and spacious range of lifestyle-oriented boats.”

Most details about the new range are still being held in confidence—Sunreef doesn’t want to scoop its own press conference by revealing too much too early—but the builder says the first model in the line, the Supreme 68, will have total living space of nearly 3,230 square feet. That’s not a typo. And remember, it’s a 68-foot yacht. That’s almost as much total space on board the new Sunreef as there is indoor floor space aboard the 263-foot CRN flagship Chopi Chopi (whose superyacht-size outdoor space adds another 2,625 square feet for a far bigger total).
Sunreef Yachts has been working to up the ante on catamaran design since 2002. The builder has produced bigger and more luxurious catamarans, including the 114-foot Che launched in 2010. She is the second-largest sloop-rig catamaran in the world, after the 145-foot Pendennis Hemisphere. Sunreef’s Che charters at a weekly base rate of more than $80,000, an absolutely unheard-of base price for a catamaran in destinations such as the Virgin Islands, where far smaller, traditional catamarans from builders like Privilege and Lagoon have long dominated the scene.
The Sunreef Supreme 68 will be available in power and sail versions. For now, all Sunreef is revealing beyond the interior’s size are a few renderings. From the angles shown, it looks like the designers may have extended the headroom usually found on a yacht’s main deck, while adding floor-to-ceiling windows, further enhancing the sense of space. The foldout transom door, when open, appears to create an extended swim platform where chaise lounges might be set up as a sort of beach club.
