Description
The 2004 40 Cabo express “KING’S RANSOM” is a fantastic example of the 40 Cabo express. Her Michael Peters hull design sets the standard by which all other boats this size are measured. She has a sharp entry with a large bow flare for a soft dry head sea ride. Her wide beam, shallow draft and partial keel make for a stable comfortable ride in both beam and following seas. Cabo build quality, fit, finish and electrical engineering is well known as best in class. Immaculate is a word used far too loosely in yacht marketing, but “KING’S RANSOM” lives up to that billing in every way. She has been FULLY PAINTED by Waterworks Yacht refinishing in Boynton Beach FL. No expense has been sparred in her upkeep. Records of MAN service, annual service and all underwater maintenance are available to qualified buyers. If you are in the market for a premium brand, meticulously maintained 40-foot express boat, your search should start and end with “KING’S RANSOM”. No high gloss milky veneer finishes like on other manufacturers. To Starboard is the L shaped ultra-leather sofa with high gloss teak table. Engine Room
The engine room on the 40 Cabo has a glassed in gel coat liner that makes clean up a breeze. Fluids, oil or dirt does not get into the fiberglass filaments and texture like other inferior finished vessels. The engine room on “KING’S RANSOM” shows exceptional, just like the rest of the vessel. She has low original hours (1950 7/25) with winter 24/25 2000-hour MAN service. Engine room access is from a helm deck day hatch or the helm deck will tilt it up for huge access on two large hydraulic rams.
Some of the engine room equipment and maintenance highlights include:
- 700 HP MAN engines
- 10 kW Westerbeke generator with approx. 2700 hrs 7/25. Full generator service completed 03/2025: heat exchanger, belts, impeller, and thermostat

- Electric fuel priming pumps
