Dual Console boats
Dual consoles are crossover boats combining many of the features of bowriders with center consoles. These boats are usually equipped for saltwater fishing with sturdy, stable, self-bailing hulls as opposed to bowriders that are not designed for fishing and are typically better suited for cruising on freshwater lakes and protected waterways.
How are Dual Console Boats built?
These vessels are designed and built with a walk-through center passageway running from the stern to bow of the vessel, that divides the boat down the middle, with consoles on either side. Usually, this passageway passes directly through the boat's windshield, which can typically be closed in rough seas and inclement weather. Similarly to center console boats, dual consoles utilize a V-shape hull that can handle seas better than most bowriders, without eliminating seating. They are typically constructed of fiberglass, although there are dual console aluminum and inflatable boats as well.
