EdgeWater powerboats builds a wide variety of boats which share one common trait: all are designed for the family fisherman. Center console, express, dual console, and bay boat models are all on the list, ranging in size from a diminutive 15' center console to monster 37'10" center console that can carry triple 350-hp outboards on the transom. What's really unusual about these boats is their proprietary SPI "Single Piece Infusion" construction process. Vinylester resin is chemically bonded in a closed-molded vacuum infusion process that bonds the hull with composite structural beams, creating a single-structural unit—something of the holy grail, in the world of boatbuilding. Electrical connections are the water-resistant Deutsch variety, all stainless-steel is 316L grade, and these boats are wood-free. The construction of these boats is impressive enough that the US Navy and the US Coast Guard both have EdgeWaters in their fleets, and boats built for such heavy-duty commercial use are built on the same production line as the recreational models you or I might buy.
