Solaris 72 Classic. A real bluewater yacht! Javier Soto Acebal is always one step ahead of everyone else in the yacht design business. In a partnership between him and Solaris, a two year programme of intensive experimentation and research led to the development of this retro-classic design.

The hull is radical, modern and gives a smoothness of handling in the most testing of conditions. The aft area chine reduces drag resistance. The weight distribution throughout the yacht is carefully configured to control pitch and roll; in particular the carbon mast, boom and rigging helps optimise the trim. Strong, safe, well-balanced and stiff to the wind, this boat looks after its passengers.

The deck design and styling is inspired by the classic pilot yachts of the Golden Age of Yachting. The deck layout allows passengers protected comfort, great visibility and ease of movement, whilst at the same time providing defined space for the helmsman’s cockpit and the rigging control systems. The passengers’ cockpit is spacious, and has options for sun protection and a table, should clients so desire. The underdeck halyard and sheet system allows passengers access the clear, curving space of the teak deck. With a swim platform, storage for a dinghy and a wide sun deck aft, as well as generous sail storage spaces fore and aft, this boat has what it takes to satisfy the serious sailor with a taste for the good life.
