Description
SO WHAT I is an exceptionally upgraded and ocean-proven 2009 Nautitech 40.2 that offers true bluewater, off-grid cruising capability in a compact and highly efficient design. She is the culmination of a multi-year refit and thousands of ocean miles sailed, transforming her into one of the most comprehensively equipped catamarans under 42 feet on the market today.
After being purchased in the Dominican Republic in 2022, So What I crossed the Atlantic west-to-east with a delivery skipper and was sailed to Turkey, where a full systems evaluation led to a complete technical and cosmetic refit. The goal: a safe, reliable, and comfortable platform for full-time liveaboard life and serious offshore passage making. Every major system was upgraded or replaced—from energy and propulsion to rigging and navigation—with careful attention to safety, simplicity, and independence.
In early 2025, she completed a successful transatlantic passage from the Canaries to the Caribbean in just 18 days, proving the results of her upgrades. She is now based in Curaçao, hurricane-safe and fully ready for her next adventure.
Her thoughtful 4-cabin layout features spacious double berths, dual heads with electric flush, modernized galley and saloon upgrades, and dual cockpit enclosures under a hardtop bimini. Power is delivered by a robust solar and lithium system, with over 2,400W of panels, a 1000Ah LiFePO4 bank, wind generator, Victron inverter, and full Cerbo GX monitoring suite. Every component is optimized for reliability and ease of maintenance.
Just a few highlights of her extensive inventory include:
