shamrock sport fishing boats

Shamrock

The history of straight-inboard fishing boats built by Shamrock goes back over three decades, before this brand was purchased by Palmer Marine in 2003. Palmer went out of business in 2009, and production ceased. These were some of the last of the large-scale production-built direct-drive inboard saltwater fishing boats, and they had a great reputation for handling heavy seas. However, the advent of newer, more reliable, more economical four-stroke outboards presented a significant challenge to Shamrock. Although there are plenty of used Shamrocks currently on the market in excellent shape, buyers should be aware that there were significant structural issues (which should be picked up in a survey) with some later models. Used boat buyers who want inboard boats of this style often still search out Shamrocks today.
