Description
SKYE (formerly Cynosure) presents a rare opportunity to own a beautiful, classic yacht designed and built with long, live aboard ocean-going cruising in mind. In fact, her first owners circumnavigated with her. Interim owners made many upgrades as have the current owners who currently sail her in Maine waters.
SKYE was repowered in 2017 with an 80 HP Yanmar with only 898 hours (as of July 15, 2025). She is easy for a couple to sail with her electric Stowaway in-mast furling, which affords you the ability to deploy, reef, and recover the mainsail without leaving the cockpit. Her current owners have owned her for nine years and have had wonderful cruising experiences, but they are now ready to release her into new hands. She features a centerboard, so her 4’11” draft enables cruising shallow areas that similar sized boats can’t reach. Her two cabin, two head layout makes her a great entertaining or family boat. Skye’s elegant warm cherry interior is accented by white countertops, and tile in a classic manner. The unusual dining table slides on rails to tuck away or to expand to seat the fleet.
As the current owners are sailing in Maine, they have removed the cutter staysail and the running backstays to sail her as a sloop. The cutter rig has all been carefully stored at her boatyard and is easily available for reassembly for those planning a long voyage. Current owners bought Skye in a warm climate, but upon returning to Maine, they have religiously stored Skye in indoor heated storage every winter. She is well maintained, tastefully finished within and without, and is ready to take you anywhere you desire.
