Description
Here's a rare chance: This 1985 Hans Christian 33T is in beautiful shape, well equipped, and just re-powered with a beautiful Beta Marine 35. It's not often you can have the best looking, most sea-worthy, best equipped, and most mechanically reliable bluewater cruiser in the anchorage. But due to health reasons, the current owners are letting Mi Velero go find her next captain in hopes of reaching distant shores once again.
Owning a Hans Christian is on many sailors' bucket lists. This 33T (Traditional), built in the famed Hansa boatyard in Taiwan, offers you confidence in ownership. Confidence that you can truly sail anywhere in the world in comfort, style, and safety. Confidence that you will be sailing a vessel that is as beautiful as she is rugged. Confidence that you haven't compromised to get the right boat.
The cutter-rigged HC 33T is a full keel, heavy layup, seaworthy sailing machine. From the small cockpit to the high bulwarks, to the double lifelines and jacklines, she is built to cross oceans. The galley has what is needed and no more, allowing crew to safely brace while prepping food. And for a 33, both the quarter berth and the pullman offer stability and comfort. Tankage and storage are abundant, once again inviting her owners to go as far as they may wish.
The current owners have invested in a new navigation suite of Raymarine electronics, with everything integrated onto the NMEA backbone (even tank gauges!). AIS, radar, nav data... everything is latest generation.
But their most recent investment is in the new auxiliary re-power complete with fuel tank inspection and scrubbing, new waterlift muffler, hoses, filters, and fresh everything having to do with propulsion. Of course, sailing is the point. But knowing you can turn the key and motor out of any situation is peace of mind. No dirty injectors. No failing fuel pumps. No partially blocked heat exchangers. No silt or growth in the tank. No nagging doubt.
In a world going ever-towards light weight production boats, here is a boat built to last, with craftsmanship, teak, and bronze in every direction. Not for everyone. But perhaps this is the boat you are ready for.
Come and take a look in Poulsbo. Appointments need to be scheduled some days in advance.
