Description
Lovingly cared for and cherished by her second owners for the past 26 years, SHEARWATER is ready for her next chapter. She is a standout example of the Mason 43; a highly respected design that is at home cruising coastlines or crossing oceans. SHEARWATER has been well maintained and thoughtfully updated over time to keep her in excellent sailing and cruising condition. Her New England winters have been spent in indoor storage for the majority of her lifetime, which is apparent when looking at her condition and preservation. Her care, upgrading and maintenance has been extensive, but some highlights include:
- 2013 Yanmar engine repower
- 2024 Garmin plotter with AIS & radar
- 2025 house batteries
- And much more throughout
SHEARWATER is a wonderful prospect for a couple or family looking for a well built, comfortable, reputable hull design. Her condition reflects the deep knowledge and affection of her CCA member owners who have sailed and raced her with knowledge, pride, and talent for nearly 3 decades. This Mason 43 is ready for her next chapter, and her owners are looking for the right steward to carry on her legacy.

Accomodations
Walking below you enter into a spacious living area with over 6' of headroom centerline. Sufficient grab rails are placed throughout to get you throughout the boat while underway, combined with the non-skid appliques throughout the sole - she is safe and maneuverable while at sea.
To port is the u-shaped galley with nav station directly to starboard. The nav station houses the electrical panel as well as the following instruments:
- Garmin 3010C GPSmap
- Fusion MS-RA210 stereo
- ICOM IC-M710 SSB radio
- Iridium Extreme satellite phone
The galley has a double basin SS sink, Corian countertops, a Force 10 3-burner stove with oven, and Sea Frost refrigerator and freezer with door access into the fridge and top access for the freezer. The area is equipped with a galley strap as well for when underway.
Moving forward you have the u-shaped dinette with drop down/fold out dining table opposite a straight settee with pilot berth above. Dropping down the dinette turns into another double berth. There is a designated book shelf and storage compartments outboard of the u-shaped settee. There are (2) fans for ventilation as well as the overhead double opening hatch. Ample artificial and natural lighting is provided throughout this area. Bose speakers have been installed just above the pilot berth.
Forward of the salon area is the head to port - finished with a marble vanity countertop and a Vacuflush electric toilet. There is a nicely sized separate stall shower with bench seating and wood grate flooring. Opposite of the head is a very large hanging locker. In the bow you find the primary cabin with a comfortable double berth, accessed by built in steps to allow easy entry/exit that double as a vanity stool. Drawer and locker storage is peppered throughout the cabin with easy access from the vanity stool or berth.
Furthest aft in the boat is the guest cabin with (2) separate berths- one single to starboard and one double to port. This cabin has a large hanging locker centerline for guests, as well as sufficient drawer and locker storage options throughout. Between the primary and guest cabins, you will certainly find enough room and accommodations to make for an easy long term cruiser for a couple or small family.
