This 37ft Belfast Lough One Design was completely restored by Ocean Refit, Mallorca in 2015 & again in 2024 by The Elephant Boatyard, UK to an un-limited budget. September 2024 Tern raced at Les Voiles St Tropez where she turned many heads with her beauty & results. Day 2 Tern achieved 2nd in the Epoque Aurique Rolex Fleet and 2nd Overall. Without doubt this yacht is capable of winning her class at the Mediterranean classic regatta
Winter 2023-24 Tern received a full overhaul and refit at The Elephant Boatyard, Southampton. Works included:
- Hull fully stripped back to bare wood
- Re-caulked
- Hull re-painted
- All exterior varnish stripped and renewed
- All New B&G race smart navigation package, including AIS, VHF, Wind, Speed, log
- New batterys & wiring
- New canvas sail covers
- All mast & spars stripped and varnished
- New running rigging throughout
- Race tuned and prepared in St Tropez
- New CIM rating Cert

CONSTRUCTION:
Ocean Refit oversaw a detailed and well researched authentic refit to William Fife's original design drawings (supplied by Fairlie).
Ocean Refit travelled to Ireland to meet with local shipyards and to research John Hilditchs original construction of Tern.
TERN'S hull planking is of 22mm Yellow pine on steamed Oak frames
