Build a Brand New Bay Cruiser 22'!
"An Elegant Mini-Yacht" is what the MathewsBros Bay Cruiser 22 has been dubbed. This boat is perfect for traveling in style on day strips along the Chesapeake Bay's coves, creeks and rivers.
Built on a proven Lempke deadrise workboat hull, the Bay Cruiser has a distinctive "Built for the Bay" character; it provides the classic look of a larger yacht finish boat, but the ease of handling a smaller craft can offer.
In keeping with its more traditional lines, the basic boat is outfitted with varnished teak coaming caps, toe rail, bowpsrit, handrails and the signature MathewsBros eyebrow. An optional teak windshield, transom and swim platform are also available.
The Bay Cruiser has a small cuddy cabin with a v-berth large enough to sleep on when desired, a small hanging locker, four fixed ports, and the electrical panel opposite the hanging locker. The interior is trimmed in teak and the sole is a finished teak and holly.
The cockpit of this mini-yacht has two pedestal seats forward at the helm and first-mate areas, as well as a full bench aft seat. The engine box can serve as extra seating or as a table for cocktails and appetizers. Optional accessories such as drink holders at the port helm and on the aft of the engine box are available as well.
The basic finish in the cockpit is non-skid, while a teak floor is optional. We also offer further amenities to finish out the cockpit with elegant style.
The Bay Cruiser comes with three power options: Inboard, Outboard, and I/O.

Mathews Brothers only uses the best of today's hi-tech boat building materials. There are no wooden stringers, no wooden framing, no wooden cockpit floors, nor are there any structural plywood bulkheads. Our hulls are solid FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic), a material ideally suited to high stress environments subject to thermal cycling situations where optimum structural properties are desired. A full length keel protects the prop and rudder from accidental groundings in shallow waters. All components are either molded fiberglass pieces or constructed using a combination of fiberglass and PVC core materials, including the cockpit liner (floor). Where supports are needed, they are fabricated of aluminum, pvc core or fiberglass; not wood. Mathews Brothers boats are built tough to last.
