The Dutchcraft 56 is a revolutionary model dubbed by the shipyard as "the most complete 56 footer in the world". This 17 meter vessel is indeed an exploration platform, a sport fishing boat, a party boat, a comfortable family yacht and a support vessel all in one. A family business, DutchCraft is the sister brand of Dutch sports yacht builder Zeelander Yachts.
This is the category with the strictest standards and covers vessels 40ft and above designed to be self-contained for extended voyages. It is defined as the "class of boat considered suitable for seas of significant wave height up to 23 feet (7 meters) and winds of Beaufort force 9 (41-47 knots) or less, but at the excluding abnormal conditions such as hurricanes".
These boats are designed to go offshore with the ability to handle winds up to gale force 8-40 knots and seas up to 13 feet (3.96 meters).
