All regular maintenance was performed on schedule by the Ranger Tugs certified mechanic, Tim Bates. Zincs were done regularly by a diver.
The cockpit has a full canvas enclosure to keep you and your things dry on wet PNW days and nights. On warm summer days, you can roll up the canvas sides to enjoy shade but still get the cool breeze on the water. Access the engine and batteries using hatches in the cockpit. The house batteries were replaced in 2020. The owner has also added LED light strips to the interior and cockpit to provide additional dimmable, any-colored ambiance to augment factory lighting. Also enjoy multiple cockpit hatches where you can store your gear and supplies.
You can exit the cockpit off the sides, or through the transom door to the swim step. At any of the three exit points, you can unstrap and then unzip the canvas to pass through. Go through the transom to use the swim step or access the dinghy. The RIB dinghy comes with a 2.5 HP Yamaha motor. It works well during anchoring to get to shore or to putt around the marina.
The JegSport cargo carrier on top of the boat helps you secure your outdoor items and keep your cockpit clear. The solar panel charges the house batteries, helping you stay at anchor longer. The inside monitor helps you keep track of your house batteries.
At the bow of the boat is an electric windlass that’s accessible on the bow or at the helm, 50 feet of anchor chain, and an additional 200 feet of rope rode let you anchor securely throughout Puget Sound.
The split v-berth bed sleeps two, has storage, seating, and a changing area, depending on how you configure the cushions. The previous owners used slip covers for those cushions to keep them clean. These are included on the boat for you to use or have as a pattern for your own fabric. Stepping up into the cabin, you’ll see 4 skylight hatches. These help the cabin feel bright and airy. On hot summer days, the previous owners attached heat-reflective covers to keep the cabin cool. You’ll find these in the v-berth.
The starboard helm includes a full electronics suite. The helm seat flips forward to provide you with additional counter space in the galley. The galley includes an under-counter refrigerator with freezer. The galley features a single-burner electric/alcohol stove, as well as a microwave under the port side bench.
On the port side, there’s a bench for 2 where your Admiral can control the music for the entire boat on the Bluetooth-ready stereo. The captain can also has control of the stereo from the touch screen at the helm.. The port side bench flips to the front of the boat to become a rear-facing bench at the dinette table. The dinette sits 4 people and will drop down to become a bed. Add the included cushion and you can sleep 2 on the dinette. The rear bench and window shelf lift to allow access to the lower mid berth. This space can also accommodate 4 Long under-bed storage bins, which can slide into the deep recess under the dinette.
You’ll be amazed at how much stuff you can store on this boat. There’s storage on the v-berth walls and under all of the v-berth cushions. There’s deep overhead storage above the windshield. The 4 galley cabinets are really deep, as is the cabinet under the sink in the head. The mid-berth area goes on and on. The cockpit has several large storage areas for your outdoor gear. If that’s not enough, there’s a cargo carrier on top with extra storage.
YES!! You read that right! This boat has a transferrable, covered, dual-finger 30-foot slip in Everett’s South Dock. The dual fingers allow you to walk around, inspect, and clean all sides of your boat. It’s easy to navigate into this or any slip using the bow and stern thrusters.
The SC in R25SC stands for Sport Cockpit. The SC cockpit (aft deck) is 25 percent larger than the original R25 giving it nearly 50 sq ft of aft deck space. The larger cockpit also lends itself to more above and blow deck storage and makes for easy access to the motor. The engine is located entirely outside of the cabin making for smooth, quiet cruising. The standard bow and stern thruster provide for excellent maneuverability around the dock and the 8' 6" beam allows the boat to be easily trailered.
