2017 Precision 21
Currently berthed at a Marina in East Tennessee we will be bringing this beautiful well equipped 2017 Precision 21 to our yard in Memphis in West Tennessee in Mid to late January. This Precision 21 is one of the last Precision 21's that the Precision Boat Works produced. Precision has ceased production but they still operate their parts support portion of the original company.
You will be hard pressed to find a newer Precision 21 as fresh. With 43,000.00 $'s spent in 2017 for this WELL equipped Precision 21 including a long shaft four stroke Tohatsu 4 hp outboard she would, if built today, would go for around 45.000 to 47,000.00. And this was without a trailer.
But to help get the boat SOLD we have ordered a BRAND NEW 2023 GALVANIZED $4,250.00 Precison 21 trailer that is INCLUDED in the advertised pricing.
Realizing that if this Precision 21 were a 2023 model she would have to sell somewhere in the 49k to 51k range you can have confidence that the price shown is a very good "Deal" as our listing price INCLUDES the new trailer !
Further if you were to purchase the boat and trailer prior to the trailer's shipment and you are a hands on fellow you could save well over a thousand dollars if you were to pick up the trailer and pull the boat out of the water and take her home without us having to go to East Tennessee and transit the boat back to Memphis.
But if you'd like to pick the boat up in Memphis and drive her home from Elvistown we would be happy to work with you.
A wonderful sailing boat, reasonable in size but still manageable, yet capable of day sailing with four or five, or capable of being managed by a solo sailor. Her 600 lbs of fixed ballast with her Keel Centerboard design yields less tippy stiff sailing boat with a flat floor for more foot room below and is a snap for raising the centerboard with out the use of a winch that is typically located down below. For the Precision 21, the control line for the centerboard is easily hand raised without having to go down below and does not require 20 turns on the winch to raise the swing keel. A superior set up and design. At only 34,000.00, you will have the advantage of saving thousands compared to ordering a similar boat from another manufacturer. Given the age the boat of you can likely qualify for 10 to 15 year financing and in many cases charge the interest off as a 2nd home. The monthly payments would be between as little as 239.00/month and obviously after tax write off, depending upon your bracket the actual out of pocket cost would be potentially under 200.00 per month. Manufacturer Provided Description
The Precision 21 design is intended to appeal to sailors requiring neither the minimum cost of a mini- nor the extra space of a maxi-trailerable. The great care that both designer and builder have put into the development of the Precision 21 is perhaps most clearly reflected in her interior. Her main cabin berths are laid out properly fore and aft.
The optional head can be accessed without having to wake any children sleeping forward, and there is storage for toiletries under this same hinged cushion. The galley is not an awkward slide-away module, but a solidly built-in unit with a stainless sink, garbage bin and alcohol stove. A 48-quart cooler is convenient to both the cockpit and the cabin, and there is a large, dry storage area aft, accessible from inside the cabin.
The battery box is located outside the living space in the large cockpit locker to starboard, and the centerboard pendant tube is protected by being fully enclosed inside the molded companionway step.
The Precision 21 features a versatile and practical keel-centerboard combination, with a NACA "wing section" foil that can be fully extended for maximum efficiency upwind, fully retracted for minimum drag downwind, and left anywhere in between to fine tune the helm on a breezy reach. The board itself weighs only 70 pounds, and it will safely kick up and over underwater obstructions, giving ample warning of shoal water. For small cruisers, a winged keel is more an inexpensive expedient than it is sensible design. In order to be effective, the wings themselves need to be quite large, which makes them awkward and prone to damage at the launching ramp, and when it comes to mud-banks, it is with good reason that they are referred to as "Danforth" wings.
The cockpit of the Precision 21 is over 7 feet long, and features seats and coamings precisely angled for comfort both when upright and when heeled. The inboard chainplates not only allow exceptionally close-winded performance to weather, but they leave ample side decks clear, providing unobstructed passage past the sleekly-styled cabin house to the anchor locker forward.
