A LUXURY SAILBOAT BUILT TO ROAM THE WORLD’S OCEANS
Hull number 25 of the hugely successful range, Janus is a fine example of the Oyster 575 MKII styling above and below decks, including the triple ‘seascape’ windows adding extra illumination to the saloon. Her modern interior feels light and spacious with American light oak joinery contrasted with walnut plank-effect flooring. Janus features a well-thought-out interior layout boasting eight berths in four ample cabins, a good-sized galley leading aft from the saloon, and two large heads – for comfortable, easy cruising with family and friends.
Cutter-rigged with push button hydraulic furling to her mainsail, yankee and staysail make Janus simple to handle for a couple and she is an obvious choice for those seeking the ultimate shorthanded blue-water cruiser under 60 feet.
HULL CONSTRUCTION: The hull is a composite construction and molded using a combination of vinyl ester and polyester resin with the outer topside finish in a white

Below the waterline, the hull features a monolithic (single-skin) composite laminate, with an Aramid/Kevlar layer, reinforced with a matrix of stringers and floors. Combined with BS1088 standard marine-ply structural bulkheads, this produces a robust structure with excellent strength-to-weight qualities and proven longevity. Additional reinforcements are included in the way of the keel recess, the keel longitudinals, mast bulkhead, P-bracket, forestay, and hull stringers. The saloon now has the vertical ‘Seascape’ windows that are such a striking feature of the award-winning Oyster 625 and are now being incorporated into most of the Oyster fleet from the Oyster 575 up. Another positive design feature from the 625 is raising the chart area up to the same level as the rest of the saloon seating, effectively extending the apparent seating area and enabling the chart table to flow seamlessly into the surrounding joinery. A joined companionway staircase now leads you below decks, adding to the feeling of quality and security. The forward guest cabin has been enlarged and has its own access directly into the forward head.
The 575’s new joinery styling covers a host of subtle enhancements including sculpted headliners, incorporating accent lighting in the saloon, more contemporary heads styling, upgraded cabin doors, and door furniture, and custom saloon air con outlets, while on the practical side, the standard specification now includes, Formula spars, a new Volvo D3 engine and Raymarine i70 sailing instruments.
Pure hull lines from Humphreys Yacht Design have ensured that the Oyster 575 is a fast passage maker, resulting in effortless blue water cruising and exhilarating performance - considered the perfect yacht for the nine owners who have chosen her as their entries for the Oyster World Rally in 2017.
The Oyster 575’s comfortable and practical, four-cabin layout and spacious saloon and dining areas provide plenty of accommodation below decks for those sailing with their families or crew, whilst on deck her flush hatches, twin-wheel configuration, and substantial cockpit allow plenty of room for eight to enjoy dining al fresco or simply relax.
