2013 Rustler 3636ft

ADAMANTINE is hull 123 and is the last Rustler 36 to be built so far, and was sold by us as a custom order by her current owners. Very nicely spec’ed - it has a full teak interior, blue gelcoat hull, tiller steering and the larger engine.  

Since delivery, the owners have made many more upgrades, and the yacht is offered as a complete package with a tender. Since shipping over from the UK, she was based initially in Rhode Island, and then the Chesapeake area for many years. A year ago she sailed to Florida, where her owners now live.

Rustler 36s have become iconic and are the ‘must have’ yacht if you want to enter the Golden Globe Race; Rustler 36s were 1st, 2nd and 3rd last time, and about 9 have entered the next race.

Like all Rustler 36 owners, we love the boat, and have had many great sails on ADAMANTINE. The build quality is fantastic and we feel safe and secure on the boat in bad weather. We have now retired and moved to Florida, and so, sadly, now is the time to sell our beloved boat.  

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”.

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Hand Laid GRP to Lloyds Register specifications and using Lloyds approved materials.
• The hull has a double gel coat (clear below the waterline), with first lay‐up in Scott Bader 489 thixotropic, isophalic resin with matched chopped strand mat for maximum resistance to porosity and tropical conditions. The remainder is in 414PA with matched chopped strand mat and woven rovings.
• Hull moulding colored navy blue, white boot top, gold coveline.
• Lay‐up weights are: Deck –3150g; Topsides – 3900g; Turn of bilge – 5100g stepped to 6900g and increasing to 8700g at the keel. Strengthened by two longitudinal, glassed in stringers.
• Coachroof and inner coamings are stiffened with 12 mm balsa core and all deck fittings are reinforced by 12mm marine ply pads.
• The hull and deck and bonded and the toe rail is through bolted and sealed.
• All bulkheads and furniture units are securely glassed to the hull on foam grounds, to form a matrix of strategic stiffening. Moulding is carried out in carefully controlled conditions with quality checks at all stages, ensuring correct lay‐up procedures and high standards of workmanship throughout.
• The ballast is a lead casting comprising of 3.4 tons, and fully encapsulated in the keel.
• Transom strengthened for hydrovane wind steering gear.

Keel & Rudder:

• Encapsulated lead full keel with cut away forefoot.
• Transom hung heavy duty teak rudder with tiller steering.

Engine & Gearboxes:

• 1 x Nanni N3.30 (37hp) diesel engine (bigger than standard).
• 2.75:1 mechanical gearbox.
• Engine is flexibly mounted with built‐in drip tray.
• Cooling by means of seawater, cooling a closed freshwater system through a heat exchanger.
• Cooling water is injected aft of the engine and through an exhaust water trap. A flexible exhaust hose connects the exhaust, via a swan neck, to the outlet valve fitting aft.
• Engine compartment is insulated with non-combustible foam sound deadening material.
• Ventilated by a fan.
• Single lever control.
• Halyard exhaust amlert system.

Maintenance & Performance:

• Engine hours – approx. 1,000.
• Cruising speed – approx  6 kts.
• Maximum speed – approx  7.5 kts.

Propulsion & Steering:

• A 1 1/4" diameter stainless steel shaft is fitted connected to the engine via a flexible coupling.
• The shaft drives a fixed 3‐bladed 16" x 13"(40.6cm x 33cm) propeller.
• Featherstream prop.
• The stern tube has a conventional stuffing box at the inboard end with a water feed from the raw water system and a cutlass bearing at the outboard end.

Voltage Systems:

• 4 x 110V sockets.
• 2 x 12V sockets (to chart table and cockpit).
• Custom Rustler main switch panel is protected by contact breakers.

Battery Banks:

• 3 x 115A AGM Rolls batteries.
• 1 x 55A Red flash engine start battery (high cranking).
• Isolating switches with link between engine and service bank for emergency starting.

Battery Chargers:

• Adverc with X spot link switch between service and engine battery banks.
• 1 x Mastervolt 12/35-3 Chargemaster.
• 3.8 Kva Isolating transformer.

Alternators:

• Batteries charged from 100A engine alternator.

Shore Power:

• 40ft 30 Amp shore power cable.

• All wastes and seawater pipes are reinforced PVC.
• Freshwater pipes are non‐toxic polybutylene. All flexible pipe connections are made with stainless steel hose clips.
• bronze Blakes seacocks and skin fittings.

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

• Hot water tank 10 gallon with 110v immersion heater element.
• Hot water heated by engine.
• Seawater foot pump to galley.
• Pressurised hot and cold water.

Bilge Pumps:

• 2 x Henderson MkV pumps, one in cockpit adjacent to helm position and one down below.

Grey & Black Water:

• Holding tank for head.
• Deck and overboard pump out.

Fuel:

• Total capacity of 40 gallons (182 litres) in a stainless steel tank.
• Tank filled from the side deck and vented outboard.
• Isolation valve fitted to tank and contents are measured by a site gauge.
• A primary filter/water separator is fitted in addition to the engine fuel filter.
• Fuel spill‐off is returned to the tank.

Fresh Water:

• Total capacity of 55 gallons (250 litres) in 2 x stainless steel tanks.
• Tank fitted with baffles, inspection hatch and dip stick.
• Filled from side deck and vented outboard.

Gas:

• Gas bottles are stored in a vented cockpit locker.
• Piping is copper tube with bulkhead fittings at each end.
• Connections to regulator and cooker are with flexible hoses and an additional isolation valve is fitted by the cooker.

• Twin bulkhead mounted compasses, port and starboard in cockpit.
• Raymarine ST60 Speed, depth and wind instruments to the companionway instrument pod.

Galley:

• Fully gimballed cooker with twin burners, oven and grill.
• Fridge unit with keel cooled compressor unit.

Heads/Showers:

• 1 x Lavac marine toilet.

• Sink with hot and cold water.

Internal Lighting:

• Halogen 10W flush lights throughout.
