Welcome aboard SIMPLE PLEASURES, a 2008 Hunter 36 with a proven track record of cruising in the Caribbean Islands, BVI, USVI, Bahamas, and of course the usual places along the U.S. East Coast. Her current owners lived aboard for four years, staging out of St Croix. SIMPLE PLEASURES is well loved and reliable. Now, with her 4-foot 10-inch draft, she has performs well on the local waters of Eastern NC for day sailing and weekend getaways.
If you are looking for an escape from the rat race, SIMPLE PLEASURES is a perfect boat for working remotely and enjoying weekends afloat or at the dock. Great performance under sail, and a reliable Yanmar diesel to get you to port when the wind drops. With lazy jacks for the mainsail, an electric windlass to lift the anchor and an autopilot to steer, this boat is really simple to cruise. The primary anchor has 100-feet of chain and another 500-feet of nylon rode providing flexibility in anchoring locations. The connector between the bimini and dodger provides cover in the cockpit from rain and wind.
With two private cabins, a large, airy and comfortable salon, and a well equipped galley, she is ideal for a family or with friends. The huge aft cockpit with bling seats can seat 8 in comfort for cocktails at anchor with the wheel folded.
The powerful rig means great performance, and the solar panel keeps the batteries charged. With a fridge in the galley and a separate deep freezer, there are plenty of supplies for an extended cruise.
The interior feels like that of a yacht 10 feet larger. Stepping down the companion way, the L-shaped galley is to starboard. To port is a large, aft-facing nav station. In the salon, a large fixed dining table and settee are to starboard, with another long settee to port leaving plenty of room to move through the cabin. The head is big and easily accessible, with a vanity and sink in one section, and a head/shower in a separate enclosure. The forward V-berth stateroom and double aft stateroom provide living space privacy.
The bottom is barrier coated and has anti fouling paint freshly done in November 2021, along with two new AGM batteries. A new rudder post, cutlass bearings, shaft seal, and engine through hull were installed in March 2022.
