The Bavaria 34, Demeter, presented as a vessel in generally fair/good condition. It was understood from the broker that the yacht had not been used for the past two seasons and which was reflected in the general condition of the hull. The length of the list of recommendations reflects a need to catch up on works that would have come to light during service. Some of the works may incur notable costs. No issues were designated Dangerous and rendering the vessel unusable. Four issues were designated as Urgent and requiring immediate attention. These related to the refitting of a hose to the manual bilge pump, fitting of CO and smoke alarms, LPG hoses, and Fire Extinguishers. The remainder of the Priority recommendations in the report may be regarded as matters of on-going maintenance and should be completed within the next six months. A number of Advisory points weremade and which our client should take note to ensure good practice is followed. Our client may wish to consider further investigation of areas not covered within the survey or were inaccessible at the time of the inspection. The survey findings have been summarised in the next section and discussed in greater detail within the text of the report. What Floats Your Boat Marine Surveys would be pleased to act on a consultancy basis through works undertaken. 2.2 Summary of Recommendations Reference should be made to the body of the survey report for the full recommendation and discussion Dangerous None Urgent 8 5.7 LPG Hoses and Regulator The LPG hoses and regulator should be replaced. 20 10.2 Manual Bilge Pump The hoses should be reattached to the manual bilge pump. 22 10.2 Gas Alarms CO and smoke alarms should be fitted, and consideration given to an LPG monitor. 24 10.4 Fire Extinguishers The firefighting capacity should be brought into line with published recommendations. Priority 1 3.4 Keel The keel should be cleaned back to bright metal and coated with an epoxy resin before antifouling. Sacrificial anodes should be refitted.
