2006 Cruisers Yachts 280 CXi ExpressThe Cruisers 280 CXi in 2006 is a midcabin cruiser whose sporty lines and versatile layout make her a popular. She’s built on a stable modified-V hull with a wide beam and moderate transom deadrise. The floorplan of the 280 is very open and airy with curtains (rather than bulkheads) separating the fore and aft sleeping areas from the main salon. The dinette converts into a double berth suitable for kids, and while the galley is small, it’s nonetheless suitable for basic food-prep activities. The topside layout incorporates a double-wide helm seat, fore- and aft-facing cockpit settees, and a walk-through windshield with molded-in steps for easy foredeck access. Space at the helm for electronic add-ons is limited. Additional features include a removable cockpit table, sport arch, transom door and swim platform. Will cruise at 22–23 knots, with twin Volvo I/Os cruise (35+ top).

Manufacturer Provided Description
Incorporating many of the same innovative design ideas that made the earlier 3075 Express so popular, the Cruisers 280 CXi Express gives boaters luxury performance in an affordable package. Sleek hull lines and curves, a roomy cockpit, excellent handling and great performance successfully blend with extraordinary belowdeck comfort, quality construction and fine attention to detail. Like her sisterships, the 280 Express is no slouch on the water. She surges onto plane quickly and easily, maintaining her smooth ride for everyone aboard and living up to her designation as a true performance cruiser. She's also comfortable. In the cockpit, a double-wide helm seat and the fore- and aft-facing cockpit settees provide ample room for owners and guests. The ergonomic design includes plenty of space for extra electronics and, ensuring additional ease of movement, offers a center windshield walk-through and a companionway to the side rather than in the center. A cockpit sunlounge with cockpit table makes the 280 perfect for those summer-afternoon anchorages. Despite the room above the deck, the living space below seems to belong to a larger boat. The wide-open layout includes a crescent-shaped convertible dinette with cherry table to starboard and a full-service galley to port with an electric refrigerator and electric single burner stove. A microwave oven is standard, while a TV/VCR is available as an option. Plus, the 280 boasts a spacious forward double berth and a fixed double berth aft. In both cases, the sleeping areas can be curtained off for privacy or left open to provide an unsurpassed living space for a boat in this size range. The midships head, located to port, offers full standing headroom and a shower.
