The owners of this yacht have made significant upgrades to many of the original factory designs to make cruising more fun and less work. From the proper lithium iron phosphate house power system upgrade to the anchoring system and everywhere between, this yacht is configured to cruise in comfort!
The Meridian pilothouse cruiser is one of the most popular models built and perfect for cruising in the Northwest. Easy and economical to operate with great visibility from the pilothouse helm and more than ample living space. From a weekend in the San Juans to a few weeks in Desolation Sound, this yacht makes the cruising lifestyle fun, safe, and accessible year-round. The open floorplan saloon, galley, and cockpit feel like a much larger vessel and with three staterooms and two full heads there’s plenty of creature comforts for family and friends to join you. Operating from the pilothouse offers comfort in winter and the shoulder seasons while the Webasto hydronic heating system keeps the entire boat toasty warm. In the summer the large flying bridge makes for glorious summer days.
The twin Cummins diesel 6BTA 370hp engines are efficient enough for extended cruising and powerful enough for quick trips. Easy access through the centerline hatch and built-in fluid change pumps make for easy engine room checks and reduced maintenance costs. Upgraded twin 180-watt alternators controlled by WakeSpeed WS500 external voltage regulators, mean your 7.2 kilowatt hour lithium iron phosphate house battery bank is always fully charged.
Unlike most Meridian 490s, the bow of this boat has been shortened by about four feet reducing the length overall to 50’ rather than 54’. This means the boat fit in a 50’ slip which makes moorage easier to find and less expensive. This was accomplished by replacing the factory bowsprit and roller with a Mantus M2 bow roller and an upgraded stainless steel hawse pipe.
The house power system is centered around a Victron Quattro 5,000-watt inverter charger – enough power for all the comforts of home without breaking a sweat and configured to automatically provide power if shore or generator power is unavailable. The 9,000-watt Cummins Onan generator provides extra charging if you want to stay in one place for more than a long weekend.
The upgrades to this vessel provide additional safety and comfort. The poorly constructed, factory built-in salon furniture has been replaced by modular seating surfaces with built-in storage (from the factory, the 490 was not available with storage in the salon seats). In the galley, the new Dickenson Mediterranean propane stove and full-size Leibher refrigerator/freezer will feel like home and the built-in ice maker will ensure you always your sundowners are always chilled.
The upgraded Furuno electronics with integrated autopilot, NXT doppler radar, and a Vesper Class-B AIS transceiver make for effortless cruising and enhanced safety in all weather conditions. The end-to-end NMEA 2000 backbone means future upgrades are plug-and-play. In the PNW, every yacht needs heat and this one is ready to go with a new (2021) Webasto Diesel Hydronic boiler and heat in every part of the yacht. In sub-freezing temperatures you can easily maintain very comfortable temperatures inside with low fuel consumption.

STATEROOMS
You will find multiple sleeping areas throughout this vessel (but you don't have to tell your friends or relatives if you don't want to). The owner’s stateroom has a custom size mattress from Ballard Canvas to give just a little extra sleeping space. The VIP stateroom has a "marine queen" (full/queen) berth also with a custom mattress from Ballard Canvas. Two additional over-under bunks just off of the Owner's Suite complete the sleeping surfaces. The bunk-room doors and bunks can easily be removed to extend the owner’s stateroom with a walk-in style closet and additional space for dressing.

SALON
A favorite space with the bright natural light cascading in from the windows that are set low enough so you can see out to the water while sitting on the settee. The open floorplan makes for wonderful gatherings for multiple people.
PILOTHOUSE
This is the area that makes you need to buy the boat! The visibility from this station is absolutely outstanding - your forward visibility is of the best you can get from any pilothouse this size and when you have the door to the flybridge open you can actually see directly behind you. She offers port and starboard pilothouse doors that provide easy access to your side decks and also let you pop your head out to check on either side of the vessel for oncoming traffic. One of the distinguishing features of this vessel is the interior access from the pilothouse to the flybridge via easy stairs, so accessing the bridge is no longer an ordeal.
GALLEY
The galley is an "up galley" located on the same level as the salon and cockpit - while in this space, you are always part of the action whether it's entertaining friends in the salon or watching for whales out the generous windows. With room for two and generous counter space, this is a galley that will please even the most discerning of chefs.
