PERFECT FISHING BOAT, INSPECTED, RELIABLE, FAST! This is a no-nonsense fishing machine for a big-fish or action-packed day. Custom built by Buffalo Boats in Bellingham, this U.S. Coast Guard-inspected vessel is ideally suited for up to 11 passengers and two crew, a perfect size for a whole lot of fun. She is extremely stable and roomy inside and out.
Enter the cabin through the heavy weather-tight door. Her wood flooring is welcoming and also easy to clean. The vessel head is immediately to port and has a vanity and extra large marine toilet, as well as a sliding window for ventilation. Its location just inside the cabin is handy for helping to keep the main cabin clean and dry. A 25-gallon water tank and a 25-gallon holding tank serve the vessel when away from the dock. Forward of the head is a four-person raised dinette. To Starboard, you have comfortable bucket-style seating for six adults, which are forward-facing for passenger comfort. Forward from the main cabin, a few steps take you up or down into the bow. Down is a berthing area with storage and single berths on port and starboard. This is an excellent place for crew to sleep if you are taking a group to an overnighter at a distant lodge. Up is the pilothouse and interior helm with a cushioned captain s chair. Port and starboard doors lead to either side deck. This gives the captain a great way to stay in verbal contact with dock helpers or within conversation distance of fishing passengers. The pilothouse has windows all around, including windows which let you see what is going on behind the vessel.
Easily come aboard Aurora from her swim deck and through her centerline transom door. She has a huge non-slip deck and 39-inch high, extra sturdy railing around the entire vessel for safety and comfort. Pole holders are dotted along the railing. Standing room is ample along the side decks and, especially, in the bow. The v-berth roof makes a great place to have a quick seat and rest weary legs and backs. In the cockpit, a fillet table/tackle storage unit is conveniently located in the center, just above a large fish hold. It can be removed, if desired. A washdown cleans the deck during the day and at the dock. For emergencies, a 16-person self-launching raft is encapsuled on the cabin roof.
Aurora is very nicely powered by two Volvo-Penta TAMD63P-A 370 horsepower turbocharged diesel engines, which were professionally rebuilt in 2020 and 2019. She cruises through the water at a comfortable and brisk 24 knots. Trim tabs keep her cruising level. Her two aluminum fuel tanks carry a generous 300 gallons of diesel. Anchoring is easily done with the hydraulic-driven aluminum drum winch.
This package comes with state-of-the-art navigation electronics, including a Raymarine model Axiom 12-inch display GPS, depth sounder and radar. For communications, you have an ICOM model IC-M604 VHF/DSC transceiver. Other features at the helm include two electric wipers and defog fans at the port and starboard windshields and a remote-control forward-facing spotlight. She has five start batteries and four housebanks and many other features not listed here. Besides the big fish you ll catch, keeping your passengers in good spirits is the excellent stereo system and deck speakers, an Alpine model CDA-9886 AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA.
