The excellent relationship of esteem between the designer, the owner and the building yard has always been a major component of the success of the most important boats.
Tiziana IV was the second boat Sciarrelli had designed for the owner and by mutual agreement had built by Cantiere Alto Adriatico in Monfalcone . Excellent both the designer and the Shipyard and excellent and knowledgeable the owner who is still its first and only owner.
Tiziana IV ,Sciarrelli drawing number 137 is the penultimate boat designed by the great Italian naval architect, whose science and skills were recognized with an Honorary Degree in Architecture from the Institute of Architecture in Venice . A few years earlier the same Institute had conferred this title on Olin Stephens.
The experience of other fast, magnificent boats of similar characteristics and size, such as: Rorolima, Chica Boba ,Tiziana III, Pamadica ,Angelica III makes Tiziana IV a work of art .
The carbon mast, painted white, wanted by the owner was approved by Sciarrelli after technical and aesthetic discussions and especially for the structural strength of the keel that could allow the very high compression load of pretensioning . Testing at 9 tons load for 3 months showed no deformation or movement . Not even in microns !
Quoting the owner : Sciarrelli was very proud of this boat and considered it one of his most beautiful creations, toghether with Angelica III; in fact, it must be said that when Sciarrelli passed away, all the Nautical Magazines remembered him with many pages and photos, and the two boats always photographed were precisely Tiziana IV and Angelica III.
Tiziana IV often participated in Regattas, especially those for classic boats, and below is a list, partial because it is built on memories alone.
