M/Y Sortland is a fine example of the Mainship 43. She is well equipped with the more desirable optional Caterpillar 350-hp diesels that have only 1100 hours. She has been impeccably maintained and this is especially evident in the engine room and bilges. She offers 3 staterooms with two heads and stall showers and a spacious salon and galley area for owners and guests. The fully enclosed flying bridge is expansive with a large dinette table and seating that will accommodate 8 persons. All service records are available.
The Mainship 43 Trawler has taken a classic design and improved it through innovative engineering and modern manufacturing methods. Since its inception, 20 years ago, Mainship has produced thousands of boats - mostly in the trawler family. The focus has been, and continues to be, in building high-quality, low-maintenance diesel cruisers that are comfortable and affordable. The 43 Trawler has a fully instrumented lower helm that allows operation during inclement weather. From the expansive flybridge, captains have a full unobstructed view to all points. Both overhead and console space have been dedicated to electronic needs. Aft of the standard radar mast, are molded steps with diamond non-skid leading to the aft deck which is large enough to store a tender. Sturdy aluminum rails offer excellent handholds, and the cockpit is lowered for safer and easier entry to the full-size swim platform that includes a convenient swim ladder, and freshwater shower. Heading to the integrated pulpit is safe for all with the wide decks and high bulwarks of the 43. The split anchor well will handle plenty of rode and an extra Danforth, and includes a wash down. Fore and aft shore power outlets allow for choice of docking. The port and starboard cabin doors make short handing a snap as well. Counter space is usually at a premium on a boat of this size, but the galley on the 43 Trawler is a chef's paradise with plenty of Corian-covered counters, an oversize double sink, a three-burner range, a microwave - convection oven, refrigerators, and loads of storage. All this is on the same level as the salon and has its own deck access door.
M/Y Sortland is priced to sell and represents an excellent value in today's yacht market. She won't last long so call today for a showing appointment.
Beautiful teak interior sleeps 6 in three private staterooms. Forward stateroom has large V-berths, overhead hatch, 3 opening portlights, two cedar-lined hanging lockers and additional storage. Side stateroom has side by side twin berths, overhead hatch, opening portlight, a hanging locker and additional storage. Large aft master stateroom has a teak & holly sole, an island queen bed with innerspring mattress, 4 opening portlights, hanging locker, plenty of additional storage, and a sliding door leading outside to the aft cockpit. There are forward and aft head compartments each with separate stall showers, molded-in vanities with Corian counters and porcelain sinks, mirrored cabinets, opening portlights and vacu-Flush toilets.
The bright and airy salon has lots of large opening windows, a teak & holly sole, and a large built-in U-shaped dinette/lounge along the port side. To starboard there is a built-in entertainment center and a useful desk area. There is a complete lower control station with a double-wide helm seat. The portside walk-thru galley is at the same level as, but separate from the salon. There are 3 sliding doors leading out from the salon: one at the galley to port, another next to the helm to starboard, and a third leading aft up to the sun deck.
The large, walk-thru galley is at the salon window level and is very open. It even has it's own sliding door leading out to the side deck.

Moving around on the outside of the boat is safe and easy with wide recessed walk-around decks, molded stairways, and handrails everywhere. The extra large flybridge area with table has enough seating for a small crowd. The aft deck area is a great place to sit and catch some sunrays or, if prefered this area can be used to store your dinghy and outboard. The lower cockpit makes handling stern lines easy and provides direct access out to the swim platform.
