"Must be seen to be appreciated" is such an overused phrase but it is certainly the case with the extraordinary Chaparral. This vessel has been kept in extraordinary condition from new both inside and out. In every way but particularly from a mechanical standpoint the boat has enjoyed a true "open checkbook" level of upgrading and maintenance.
In 2021 she was repowered with a 7.4 MPi Mercruiser. In the year and half that have followed her owner, a professional mechanic, has carefully upgraded this new engine to Mercury's recommendations for hot weather operation to include a new low PSI fuel pump and he has replaced components that were not included with the new engine to include the starter, alternator, sea water pump and any coolant hoses that were not included with the motor.
The vessel also includes a new hot water heater, a new holding tank and fittings for the Vacuflush head and a new Icom VHF radio. A full annual tune-up with new distributor cap, rotor and plugs was recently performed along with a fresh oil change with synthetic oil. All of this is indicative of the meticulous level of care that this boat has received from a highly knowledgeable and passionate owner.
From the outset the Chaparral Signature 270 was created as a high-end cruiser that was priced and built to a higher standard than the competition. The gel coat on her hull is still gleaming and this boat has clearly enjoyed a cherished life. Upholstery inside and out is in excellent condition. A unique hatch mounted marine air conditioner from West Marine is included in the sale to make this an excellent overnight weekender at the marina or with the use of a portable generator.
Cockpit and cabin dining tables are included. Twin bimini tops allow as much or as little sun into her cockpit as desired. Recently replaced custom Sunbrella covers for both the cockpit and bow seating covers protect the entire vessel when stored.
Her full galley includes a refrigerator/freezer, microwave and stove. Hot and cold showers are on offer both aft on the swim platform and within the enclosed head compartment that features pump-out Vacuflush head connected to the new holding tank.
The transom seating quickly stows to enlarge the cockpit when fishing or entertaining. In addition to her lightly used trailer, she is housed in a transferable rack at the area's most popular marina with on-site pool, allowing new local owners to bypass the current 18 month plus wait list. One of the area's most popular waterfront restaurants, Ozona Blue, is located within the marina.
If you are considering a full-featured cruiser, including much more expensive later model competitors this boat is indeed a "must see". It would be hard to beat this entire package that includes a high-quality boat that is in truly excellent and and beautifully maintained condition, with a recently installed new motor and other mechanical components throughout, a lightly used trailer, and for local buyers an almost impossible to find rack at one of the very best and most reasonably priced marinas. You will not be disappointed!
The Chaparral Signature 270 will satisfy the need for a little full throttle excitement, and the need to slow down and let the sun work its rejuvenating magic. The Chaparral 270 Signature has an extended V-plane that cuts through whitewater with authority. When it's time to throw out the anchor; the 270 is ideal beachside, with its non-skid dock, walk-through windshield, and full-width dive platform. Below, every inch of space is put to good use in the 270's cabin. The dinette converts to a roomy sleeping area and, along with the aft cabin, comfortably sleeps four.
