The Elling E3 accommodation offers four berths in two well-appointed cabins, lower and upper seating and dining areas, and lots of storage, ideal for couples looking to do extended cruising or live aboard as the layout offers more privacy and flexibility than most designs at this size. The light and spacious interior has good levels of natural light and ventilation, is fitted out with beautiful hardwood joinery and has cream upholstery, with complimenting curtains, blinds, and carpets.
FORWARD CABIN: Fitted with an assymetric V berth, hanging locker, eye-level shelving, easily accessed beneath berth storage, opening portlights, and a hatch to the foredeck.
HEADS COMPARTMENT: Located forward to port and fitted with an electric marine toilet, separate shower compartment, washbasin, mirrored cupboards, and a heated towel rail.
LOWER SALOON: Offering excellent privacy ideal for breakfasting and relaxing aboard in busier marinas, comfortable seating is provided by a large curved settee with an oval table and two stools to starboard, and two armchairs opposite to port, either side of an entertainment centre equipped with a TV and stereo system. Excellent storage is provided in a range of cupboards and lockers, there are two opening and two fixed portlights, and the galley area and forward cabin soles are all on the same level for safe transit when in a seaway.
OFFICE / DRESSING ROOM: A useful multi-purpose space that lends itself well to use as an office, hobby room, or dressing room, fitted with a desk or dressing table with stool, drawers, shelving, and a large hanging locker. This area could easily be adapted to offer more hanging storage on a temporary or permanent basis, and has an opening portlight and coat hooks.
GALLEY: Large linear galley located in the aft passageway to port equipped with a four-burner electric induction hob, electric oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, twin stainless steel sink, washing machine, ample work surfaces for food preparation, and excellent storage.
AFT CABIN: The owner's aft cabin features a large island berth lying athwartships, with side tables, storage areas, reading lights, mirror, an opening portlight, and an opening hatch to the bathing platform.
WHEEL HOUSE: Laid out with a comfortable helm position to starboard with an L-shaped settee to port around a fixed table with drop leaves which is raised to take advantage of surrounding views. The helm has good all-round visibility and is equipped with engine controls and instrumentation, navigation equipment, and control panels. Excellent natural light and ventilation is provided by a sliding roof and the large wheelhouse windows are all fitted with blinds for privacy.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT: A Kabola diesel cabin heating system and a diesel combination water heater provide excellent reliable heating and hot water throughout via a pressurised hot and cold water system.
EXTERIOR: The raised aft deck provides an excellent spot for alfresco dining and features built-in fore and aft seating, whilst the wide, safe, side decks lead forward to the foredeck which has concealed forward seating and sun pad areas. 'Eagle' is built with the aft locker option, easily accessed via the bathing platform, providing good storage for equipment and improved access to the generator and other systems.
Located to centre with excellent access is a Cummins 6BTA 5.9L 370hp six-cylinder turbocharged marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via a heat exchanger. Vetus electronic engine controls. Shaft drive with rope cutter to a bronze 5-bladed propeller. Large 1500 litre fuel capacity in two tanks giving an approximate cruising range of up to 1500 nautical miles cruising at displacement speeds. Vetus bow and stern thrusters.
The engine has been serviced by the local Cummins dealer and has run for approximately 1346hrs to date (October 2022, may increase gradually as still in use) equating to optimal usage of around 60hrs per season.
Elling E3 built by Elling Yachts in 1999 to a design by Ken Freivokh as an RCD Category A ocean capable motor yacht. Twaron aramid (Kevlar alternative) reinforced GRP hull with blue painted topsides, off white superstructure, and decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Flexi-teak laid aft deck. Long skeg profile for directional stability. Wheel steering to a spade-hung rudder.
