Reliable CAT Diesel Power- Reliable diesel aft cabin boat perfect for the Great Loop! The present owners purchased this boat to do the Loop. They have crossed their wake, returned home and want the boat sold! Please bring offers! A twin engine aft cabin Motoryacht for well under $100K,
Other than her two trips around the Loop, S.L.O. Dancer has been a freshwater boat. The boat is currently "on the hard" in Traverse City, MI.
S.L.O Dancer is well equipped for cruising the Great Loop:
The 3950 with the 14' beam has an exceptionally large interior space:
Reasons why we love our aft cabin Motoryacht:
The 7000-mile adventure on Americas Great Loop, this Cruisers 3950 has been very reliable, very consistent, very sturdy, and very seaworthy-comfortable in all kinds of weather and seas. Our peace of mind has been far greater for having a boat that has needed so few repairs along the way.
The boat is easy to drive, very maneuverable and surprisingly easy to dock and go through locks.
The boat cruises at its optimal cruising speed (9.25 mph) however it has the capacity to go on plane and cruise for an average of 20 mph for several hours (New Jersey Coast-135 miles in 7.25 hours) thanks to the twin 420 hp Cat 3126 engines!
These were some of the features we particularly appreciated:
Autopilot-some said it was not needed but we used it 85% of the time
Air conditioning and heating. We were VERY grateful we had both!
Power windlass with controls on bow and helm. Easdy for the Captain and Mate to work together!
Wide walkways on port and starboard side.
Comfortable helm with two VHF radios (1 is handheld), reliable radar, depth, Chart Plotter with AIS and reliable engine instrumentation.
Space at helm for:
1) mate to help navigate
2) room to stretch
3) being able to eat at an adjacent booth and table
4) easy access to aft deck
3-sided helm enclosure with canvas and isinglass with good protection and ventilation
Large house bank and many 12 and 120 vac outlets
Solar panels
Stairs (no ladders) and many handrails
Adequate holding tanks for waste and water storage
Great ground tackle, lines, fenders with great storage for those on deck
Spacious salon for reading, relaxing, doing paperwork, etc. Couch that doubles as an extra bed.
U-shaped galley with electric stove and oven, decent refrigerator and freezer. We liked the fact there are lots of cupboards and storage plus microwave/toaster oven/Vitamix blender/Keurig coffee maker and lots of kitchen supplies.
Very convenient counter with two stools between the galley and salon for eating and deskwork.
Large aft stateroom with queen bed, custom mattress and head with shower. Storage below bed.
Large Vee berth sleeping area with deep storage and second head.
In general, there is a lot of storage everywhere!
