Au Revoir was first seen by Scott and Marybeth Johnson in a boatyard in Carlyle, Illinois on Valentine's Day, 1998. She had been on the hard for 3 years, waiting for the right people to rescue her and it's has been a wonderful ride for 25 years.
It is time to let another family experience her grace as she has traveled both sides of Lake Michigan cruising most years. She occasionally was raced in Wednesday night beer cans in the early days, then enjoying Lake Michigan's harbors and beauty.

Au Revoir was moored in Monroe Harbor with appropriate covering, safety lines and has been maintained by well-regarded mechanic Doug Pietz at Rentner Marine. The boat and accessories are taken down each year for inspection and evaluation and stored indoors. During a storm in 2015 there was minor damage to the hull, which warranted a repainting, nothing serious. All deck hardware is original and maintained. There is an autohelm, Raytheon electronics and Volvo Penta diesel. The lining in the captain's quarters has been removed and some of the lining in the side panels in the main salon are in need of re-adhering to the hull. There are no tears or punctures in the lining.

Au Revoir has a matching gray bimini and frame ( only used during cruising and properly stored with original hardware at Columbia Yacht Club), both original and a compliment of new sails, including spinnaker sail and hardware, shackles, extra lines and hardware, winch handles, mooring covering, buoy mate and tackle, quality dock lines and rigging, Beneteau maintenance kit, various boat care and cleaning products, original interior cushions, fenders, life jackets and stainless hooks in the head and captain's quarters.

Au Revoir is a wing keel boat, there is an emergency tiller in the lazarette, Volvo owner's and service manuals, stem and bow anchors and a fuel can. VC17 is applied each spring to the hull. There is a Blaupunkt tuner CD stereo with B&W speakers in the cabin and marine speakers in the cockpit.

Beneteau First 32S5 is a 9.9 meter monohull sailboat designed by renowned Philippe Stark.and Berret-Racoupeau and built by Beneteau between 1989 and 1994. Au Revoir has retained its value as a result of superior building, a solid reputation and devoted owners.
