1988 Ericson 28-228ft

1988 Ericson 28-2 sloop, “Imjatse” - always fresh water, moored on mooring can in Monroe Harbor Chicago.  Shrink-wrapped mast up over winters, only two owners, current owner since 2002 has purchased larger boat.  Universal M-12 diesel with approx. 15-20 hrs motoring per summer since new (so likely under 1,000 hrs).  Tachometer and oil pressure gauges operable; ammeter not working.  Owner does all winterizing.  New fuel pump in 2017.  15 gallon fuel tank.  Accommodations: 4 berths, enclosed head, galley with non-pressurized alcohol stove, pressure water and ice box (no refrigeration). 

Ritchie binnacle compass on steering wheel.  Raised helmsman’s seat, contrasting non-skid color on white smooth decks. Knotmeter and wind instruments are working; Depth sounder not working. 110 v shore power, 2 batteries and 100watt solar charger mounted at stern. 

Anchor in anchor locker, anchor roller, double lifelines, boarding gates port & starboard, dodger canvas aboard, stainless steel framing off boat, cradle included.

Tie rods to longitudinal stringers and chainplate attachments to bulkheads appear sound; fractional rig sloop, block & tackle boom vang, Harken roller furling system, 3 Barient winches , 2 Barient self-tailing winches, mainsail and headsail in serviceable condition.  Electric bilge pump and manual bilge pumps should be replaced.  Anchor light and steaming lights not working (may just need new bulbs).

Presently Imjatse is de-cluttered of owner’s personal gear and shrink-wrapped; cleaning and make pretty work scheduled for first weather opportunity with leading Chicago professional company
