This Sea Trader 41 is an opportunity to purchase a substantial cruising yacht with a proven track record, now in need of an input of more youthful energy to bring out its full potential. The current owners of 21 years spent 5 years living aboard while undertaking a North Atlantic Circuit. They found she took even the roughest weather in her stride. The large aft cabin and en-suite heads are among the features that will appeal to live-a-boards. There is a second double cabin and heads plus a large saloon and galley.
Price reduced and priced to sell.
GRP hull and decks with Balsa sandwich construction throughout. Long keel with cutaway forefoot. Keel stepped rudder and hydraulic wheel steering. Hydrovane wind steering.
18 years ago the vessel was re-engined with a Volvo Penta MD2040 39hp inboard diesel with shaft driven 3 bladed fixed propeller. Currently there are 2 x 12V batteries on board for engine start and service power but there are spaces for up to 4. Batteries are charged via the engine, shore power battery charger and wind generator.
Originally Junk rigged, the current owners had the boat re-rigged as a masthead sloop with new keel stepped mast, boom and standing rigging. The sails are all by Goacher Sails Circa 2005 and include:
Slab reefing Mainsail with Lazy Jack bag (3 reefs) - said to be in "good condition"
Furling foresail - said to be in "good condition"
Hank on inner foresail - said to be in "good condition"
Spare foresail - said to be in "as new condition"
Storm Trisail - said to be in "as new condition"
There are 6 berths in 2 double cabins and 2 saloon single berths fitted with lee cloths as passage berths. The aft double cabin is large with full standing headroom throughout and large en-suite heads with shower. The galley begins in the walkthrough to the aft cabin where there is a worktop, fridge and storage. At the rear of the saloon the main galley area has stainless steel worktop, twin sinks for fresh and seawater, a gas oven with two burner hob, microwave and a variety of storage. The saloon has a C shaped settee to port with dining table and a linear settee / berth to starboard. The chart table and electronics are also situated to starboard. Moving forward lies a second heads to port, storage to starboard and then the double forecabin.
