The Californian 42's are iconic yachts known for the incredible quality of their construction and a layout that gives them the livability and roominess of vessels far greater in size. This was never more evident than in this particular yacht, just in from an extended tour of the Bahamas, which shows as a boat that has been cherished from new.
With gorgeous solid teak and mahogany woodwork (and not a veneer in sight) this immaculate boat has all modern conveniences and upgrades. A large flat screen is housed in a custom built-in electric unit and raises and lowers when desired with a remote. A custom cabinet houses a WiFi router and a built -in hidden new printer/fax/scanner. With two full head compartments and both a fresh water Vacuflush and a saltwater head she is designed and upgraded for extended cruising and liveaboard use in luxury surroundings under any conditions. Three upgraded A/C units keep the vessel as cool as you desire.
Her cockpit contains a new icemaker and sink along with generous storage space and cabinetry and has varnished doors port and starboard going forward. There is a full swim platform with new swim ladder.
Her bridge is fully equipped with high end new electronics and radar and an autopilot for the twin Cat diesels. Aft of the fully covered bridge, which benefits from isinglass enclosures forward, is a new, military grade inflatable tender with outboard. An electric davit crane sits on the port side with a 1000 lb capacity.
There are twin bunks forward and a roomy forward head with separate shower. Moving aft and to starboard there is a large full galley with a new microwave/convection oven, a new large AC/DC fridge/freezer and dual sinks with a garbage disposer. To port is a dinette that will seat a large family or group of friends. A massive compartment under the teak and holly sole houses a massive store of brand-new spare maintenance items and parts to even include a pair of bronze propellers.
Entry to the salon is via steps which lift to her large engine room. The salon is also massive, thanks in no small part to her 15' 3" beam, and shows virtually as new. With walnut cabinetry throughout there is, in addition to the aforementioned concealed TV and printer unit, a built in stereo system for both music and television.
Moving far aft is a full beam master with queen sized bed, two large cedar lined hanging closets, a dressing table with LED mirror lights and numerous drawers and cabinets that will rival most land based bedrooms. A further roomy head with separate shower adjoins the master.
The engine room is expansive and removable floor panels allow full standing headroom when required. Within this fully equipped space are the twin Caterpillar diesels, a large water heater, and and 12.5 Kw Northern Lights generator with full control panel. Recently upgraded battery chargers handle both the engine and house batteries with a further upgraded unit dedicated to the gen set.
