WILE E COYOTE -  This handsome powerful Nordic 40 sloop-rig yacht, designed by Robert Perry and built in the Bellingham by Nordic Yachts, was constructed to the highest standards and exacting in every detail.  WILE is an incredibly fine example of a well loved and lovingly maintained sailing yacht. Swift, balanced and effortless under sail she is easily single-handed or sailed by a couple.  A sailor’s boat, the Nordic 40 is capable of smart performance in light airs and inspiring performance when the wind freshens.  

"At the time she was built, no one was building better sailing yachts."  She is an immaculate sister of the famous Nordic 44.

The Nordic 40 is a proven offshore sailing yacht.  The fine entry provides lovely upwind comfort and control.  The wide beam and moderate displacement give her great stability. The Nordic 40 sports a large rudder hung on a high aspect ratio skeg, a design that produces superb steering and exceptional tracking.

Her beautifully crafted teak interior and well appointed galley and interior accommodations enhance the experience.  She's a gem!

An offshore capable vessel, she has a deep draft fin keel providing superior windward performance. With large fuel and fresh water tanks she's vessel ready to explore the world. Reefing lines and halyards run aft to the near perfect cockpit.  She's ready to join her sister Nordic yachts who have completed many offshore passages, including circumnavigations.

Equipped with downwind sails, both 3/4 oz and 1-1/2 oz spinnakers.  Her fully battened main and three furling head sails (150%, 135% and 100% high clew) provide  flexibility in all weather conditions.

Pampered by her owner, Wile's (890-hours) engine is a 40mhp Yanmar diesel, installed in 2009, has been lubricated with synthetic oil since new.  Modern navigation electronics were installed including pedestal mounted multi-function display. 

The wide beam carried aft creates a very large cockpit and extra interior space.  There is line stowage to starboard and huge storage locker to port. The starboard lazarette locker provides steering gear access and the aft port locker carries two propane tanks.

The Nordic 40's hull is hand laid solid fiberglass and insulated. The bow has a generous overhang to keep anchor and chain clear and a reverse transom for maximum waterline length.

Her first owners christened her Wile E Coyote and the name has stuck.   Equipment and recent upgrades include:
