The Krogen Manatee is a boat with a wonderful layout and has an interior you would normally have to go to a much larger boat to see. Her single stateroom design makes her one of the most comfortable live aboard boats of her size and her minimum draft means she can go just about anywhere her owners wish to go be it the islands or inland cruising.
The Manatee hull and cabin are of fiberglass sandwich construction with closed-cell PVC foam core; heavy hand lay-up using mat and roving. The state of the art construction is one of the most enduring and safest afloat. (Closed-cell PVC foam does not deteriorate or absorb water.) The composite structure serves both as a buoyancy material and shock, sound and temperature insulator. It rides quiet, increases impact strength and eliminates condensation inside the hull. All joiner work, paneling and beam caps are of teak. Cabinetry is teak.
The Saloon is entered from the extra large covered aft deck through teak double doors. To port is a built in U-shaped settee that can convert to a Queen berth. To starboard are two comfortable leather recliners w/ ottomans, a teak cabinet and book shelves. Additional storage is available in a bamboo and rattan cabinet. An ONN Roku flat screen TV is mounted to port. Opening windows with screens on port and starboard sides and an aft window with teak valances and day/night blinds blinds provide ventilation and make the cabin bright & airy.
The U-shaped galley is located forward of the saloon. A pass through with teak doors allows the galley a view out the back doors and with the window to port it is bright and airy enough to please any chef. It is very large and has an exceptional amount of cupboard, drawer and locker storage. Major components include:
One of the outstanding features of the Krogen Manatee is the large master stateroom, located forward, with a queen size berth, large double hanging locker, mirrored vanity and generous drawer storage and a large storage space under the bed. There are 4 opening ports and a large opening hatch to allow for abundant ventilation when on the hook. There is a 20" Toshiba wall mounted flat screen TV with built in DVD player at the foot of the bed as well as book shelves and a locker.
The head is located to starboard, opposite the galley. It includes a large separate stall shower, stainless steel basin, and Royal Flush Superbowl head. A large opening window combined with Dutch door allow for ventilation and light. The Dutch door also allows cross ventilation and light when the head is not in use.
The pilothouse on the Manatee is accessed by a large teak & stainless ladder on the aft deck. It offers 360-degree visibility and can be completely enclosed via windows forward and custom canvas if desired. There are side deck doors port and starboard. There is a comfortable helm chair as well as U-shaped seating behind the helm chair. Custom privacy/wind curtains surround the entire aft boat deck. There is also a custom bimini cover that can shade the entire boat deck which will keep the saloon and galley cooler. Forward of the pilothouse are two large storage lockers with a built-in seating area between them.
