"Sundowner VI" was designed by the famous Naval Architect Jay R. Benford of Washington State. The plans were drawn for a Seattle couple who had the vessel built and used her for charter service in the Pacific Northwest. Her name was "Harambee". This vessel is now named ""Lungta", and his still bluewwater cruising today. So much for the bad "rap" that ferro cement vessels have. Well built ferro boats last many, many years with relatively low maintenance.
You can read about "Lungta" here lungtalife dot com. "Sundowner VI" was built in Pearl Harbor. This is a rare occurrence in itself here in Hawaii. She looks well found, and really never was finished.
We are telling you this story because this vessel seems far from dead, and if someone would wish to finish the project, we could help. We have the plans on board. Amrican built means she could be used for legal commercial service in the Good Ole' USA. Certainly would make a great family cruiser or research vessel.
