Dyer 29' Custom Hardtop!

This 1981/2015 Dyer 29 is a very "Special Boat"

This boat was one of 6 Dyers built for the Virginia Pilot Association and used to transport pilots from the station ship to the inbound / outbound ships at Cape Henry, VA.

Around 1982 the Pilot Ship was deactivated and a shoreside station was built. Today, 50' aluminum launches ferry the pilots to and from Cape Henry.

The older Dyer 29 launches were used for special assignments and kept at the Lynnhaven Pilot Station for a number of years but, were finally sold off.

This 1981 Dyer 29 hull was built to the Pilots specifications with enlarged stringers and addition layers of fibreglass in the hull. The retired launch was completely stripped to the bare hull and professionally built to the custom design of today in 2015.

The engine is a 2001 Cummings 6-B 220 hp engine that cruises the boat at 15 kts @ 2200 RPM. WOT is 20 kts @ 2800 RPM.

The boat has a custom vee-berth, small galley, and an enclosed area for a porta-potty (not included)

Since completion, the Dyer has been lightly used as a day boat on the Chesapeake and lift kept behind the seller's home.
