Welcome aboard NOMAD, a spacious 1980 Albin 36 Double Cabin mid-way through a Great Loop cruise. Her owners began their trip in Kentucky and have stopped in North Carolina, because they need to move back ashore. Well equipped and maintained, NOMAD is ready to continue the Great Loop trip north.
Examples of maintenance done to Nomad include four new 4D batteries in the past two years and fresh bottom paint. The powerful and reliable Ford Lehman 120 diesel engine was rebuilt in 2014. The transmission was replaced in 2009. An Onan 8.5kw generator is built in. A portable Honda 3.5kw generator also comes with NOMAD. The portable generator runs the microwave and air conditioning simultaneously, is much quieter, and does not shake the boat like the large Onan generator does.
For those who prefer the ease of maintaining decks without teak, the teak on the main deck on NOMAD has been removed and replaced with fiberglass that slopes perfectly for deck drainage.
One of the best features for cruising on NOMAD is the oversized tunnel style bow thruster, one designed for a 40 to 45 foot yacht.
The interior of NOMAD is beautifully decorated. The wood is well maintained. A flat screen TV, DVD player, and electronic antenna provide entertainment and local news and weather at anchor or at the dock.
An Achilles 9.5 foot dinghy and 9.9hp Honda outboard motor are included.
For many years, NOMAD was kept in fresh water. Her previous owner, a licensed delivery captain, lived aboard for 12 years in Kentucky.
