1974 Triton 28 now for sale exclusively with DBY Boat Sales.
Inga is a beautiful 1974 Triton 28. Designed by John C Allsop, who in his spare time was a QANTAS 747 Captain, and who also designed the Triton 24. She was very strongly built by Triton Yachts here in Sydney.
She has only ever had two owners, and the current owner has been enjoying her since 1978.
There were two versions of the 28’, and this boat has the lead keel (rather than the cheaper cast iron one), and as a result carries a slightly taller rig.
Her engine was replaced and upgraded from an 8 hp Yanmar to a 12.5 hp Kubota inboard diesel in 2002. The engine has a shaft drive and a folding propeller and has been regularly serviced but has seen very little use and only has 150 hours on it.
Inga has a fully battened mainsail, a no. 1, no.2, and 2 x no. 3 headsails – all on hanks, no furler, as well as several spinnakers, a spare main, 2 x spare no. 1’s and a storm jib. Her primary winches are self-tailing.
She is ready for immediate enjoyment this Summer, with 2 batteries, a solar panel, boarding ladder, 2 burner metho stove, ice box, and even a hot water cockpit shower.
Her loving owner, having club raced her for many years single handed, is now retiring from sailing at age 83 to concentrate on his tennis game and is keen to see his beloved Inga go to the right home.
