Introducing s/v Ariel, built in 1971 by renowned boat builder and designer Charles Morgan, known for his quality line of both cruising and racing vessels. This classic 35’ center board Morgan has a 3.5’ to 4.6’ draft with the center board down. s/v Ariel is very unique, she has been through a complete and thorough restoration from inside and out, and is cruise ready right now.

The most extensive and important upgrades have been done: all the standing rigging was replaced with the mid stay uppers replaced in 2016, mid stays 2018, rear stay 2019, Forestay and Harken furler 2020, 4 lower shrouds in 2021 and all stainless-steel lifelines were replaced and encased with pvc in 2021. All the running rigging, rope locks and blocks were also replaced in 2021. All sails are in great condition, and all winches were removed and serviced by a local rigger in 2020, with new handles and spare part kits.

s/v Ariel has a well maintained Westerbeke 30B diesel engine with only 550hrs on it. The engine blowers were done in 2020. The drive shaft and dripless packing were serviced in 2021, and a bronze 3 blade propellor was put on in 2021. There is also a spare 2 blade steel propellor. This vessel also comes with new navigation equipment to get you to your destination safely: a newly installed Monitor Windvane, Vesper AIS transmitter, Garmin Inreach and VHF radio all installed in 2021. Installed in 2020: a B&G Zeus, Triton and Navpod and a B&G wind sensor/temperature/transducer.

Not only does this classic vessel have all major systems upgraded, but she has been cosmetically refitted as well. On the interior she has been repainted in 2020 with high quality 2-part paint, the counter top and wall accents have been redone with a beautiful Brazilian cherry wood. In 2021 all new custom cushions were made with Sunbrella fabric, and an 8” memory foam mattress was made for absolute comfort for sleeping in the vberth. On the exterior, s/v Ariel was repainted with Polylon 3-part Aircraft Grade paint done in 2020, and her bottom was painted last year with Copper Coat bottom paint. All exterior cushions, sail covers, dinghy chaps, dodger and bimini were made last year with marine grade Sunbrella.
