Aura's cockpit seats five or six adults and is well protected from sun and wind by a recent dodger and Bimini.  Custom made cockpit cushions and high seat backs make it a comfortable place to hang out and enjoy the surroundings. Moving down below, one is immediately struck by the fine woodwork and craftsmanship for which Hinckley is famous. The main salon has long settees on either side and a folding dining table with different configurations depending on the number of people using it. The settees slide out to make sea berths, and with raised berths on either side, the main salon sleeps four. Starboard side forward is a built-in wood burning fireplace which not only extends the fall sailing season but also adds great ambience to the cabin. To port and aft is the galley featuring a recently upgraded three-burner propane stove and oven, large stainless steel sink with hot/cold pressurized water and ample counter and storage space. To starboard and aft is a deep top-loading refrigerator, the top of which serves and the chart table. Over the chart table is a recently upgraded switch panel, VHF radio, GPS, Radar display and stereo. Forward and to port is the inclosed head featuring a new full-sized electric toilet, stainless sink, medicine cabinet with mirror, hand-held shower and storage compartment. The Master Cabin is up in the bow and contains a large double berth and storage drawers on both sides and underneath. Overall, the accommodations are not only comfortable and very well though out by experienced boat builders and cruisers, they set the standard for what a genuine "fine yacht" should look and feel like. 

 AURA was built before the 12-digit Hull ID Number was standardized across the industry, but she does bear a plaque engraved with Hull #1229 on the companionway. The owners have spared no expense in maintaining AURA and they have the boat yard invoices to prove it! The powerful engine (4-cylinder, 127 cubic inch disp., 46 HP) is in tip-top shape with low hours and has been serviced on a regular basis by qualified mechanics. All the exterior teak woodwork was stripped and revarnished last year and is in Bristol condition. The hull paint job and the bottom are in great shape, also. The interior craftsmanship is nothing less than spectacular. To have a boat built like this today would cost millions, and that's no exageration! There may be a little less interior volume than most modern "plastic" 40-footers, but the gain is real beauty and seaworthiness.
