1949 Monk Tug
Histoiic working Tug. Deigned by Lorne GardenAlaska Packers Company in 1949. Originally used a a tow boat oving fish traps to and from their sites as far north as Chignik Alaska on the Aleutian Peninsula. Aftr the fush traps were outlawed The "TEAL" towed log booms around the Puget Sound region. powered by her direct reversing Atlas Diesel. In 1962 she was repowered with a more modern Caterpillar D343.making her one of the fastest Tugs in the PNW. Twin Disc gear and Keel cooled. Well maintained by all her owners and her brightwork is rare and very nice for a vintage tug.
