Following a successful 20-year career in advertising and marketing, Ed & Debbie moved to Florida in 1999 to cruise and live aboard their Island Packet 40. In 2001, Ed began his career as a yacht broker working for the Florida Island Packet dealer in Palmetto. Using his winning formula of honesty, hard work and professional marketing skills, Ed moved quickly up the ranks and eventually became co-owner of the business. Debbie joined Ed in the position of Office Manager in January of 2005. Under Ed and Debbie’s guidance, their company won Island Packet's prestigious “Dealer of the Year” award in 2005 and 2006 for highest sales volume and outstanding customer service. In November of 2006, Ed & Debbie fulfilled their dream of opening their own independent yacht brokerage and Whiteaker Yacht Sales was born. Ed is a Certified Professional Yacht Broker. To become a CPYB you must have been in the business for a minimum of three years and pass a rigorous exam, testing your knowledge on tax laws, ethics, escrow accounting, closings, co-brokering, and numerous other important details which are integral to a smooth transaction. To keep this certification you must continue your education through training and education programs which will keep you up to date on the latest changes in the business. While most of her experience has been with sailboats, she is an eager fast learner and her knowledge of the boating industry grows daily. Whiteaker Yacht Sales is proud to have William Mayberry on our team of yacht brokers. William is a licensed USCG Captain and is very knowledgeable about all types of boats. He has been an avid boater for more than 30 years having owned runabouts, houseboats, power cruisers, and sailboats. He has cruised the Tennessee River system, Gulf Coast, Eastern US Coast, and The Bahamas. He currently lives aboard his Island Packet 37 sailboat with his wife, Judy. He is a former business owner and has extensive knowledge in marketing and customer service. Those of you who have met William know he takes very seriously our pledge to provide "Exceptional Service" and to demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times. Plus, he's a darn nice guy! If you happen to work with William when buying or selling your boat, you'll be happy you did. And, you will probably make a friend for life.

Whiteaker Yacht Sales image Mike Fauser started sailing in 1974 while he was training at the Seafarer’s International, Merchant Marine School in Piney Point, Maryland. In 1980 he began sailing as a Bareboat Skipper in the Virgin Islands where the love of sailing really took hold. He moved to Florida in 1998 to escape the cold winters of the Midwest. In 1999 he received his USCG Captains license and became an ASA instructor. He then managed the Sunsail Tampa Bay Charter operation for a year and then moved into yacht sales for Sunsail World Wide. Later he began working for a local Yacht Dealer for several years before starting his own Yacht Brokerage with Sam Sevier in 2004. In 2005 he was asked to join the Island Packet dealer in Florida and has been a Certified Island Packet Salesman for the last 4 years. He is currently the Commodore for the Manatee Sailing Association and a Big Brother. Whiteaker Yacht Sales is very proud to have Mike on their team. While attending the University of Georgia Bob Underwood bought his first boat, a "Snappy Lateen Rigged" Lockley 12ft board boat from a hardware store in Athens, Georgia. He was hooked! Now 30 years later he has owned everything from trimarans to sportfishermen. He has sailed and raced Lasers on Lake Lanier in Georgia, trimarans in the Bahamas and fished a Grady White sportfisherman from his then home base in Tavenier Key in the Florida Keys. Bob is an active boater and is always looking for his next boat. Let him help you buy or sell your boat and he will work with the same enthusiasm and love of the sport that he has exhibited since his college days.
Bob is based in Dataw Island, South Carolina and will specialize in providing service to boaters between Savannah and Charleston.

Jeanelle grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and she has been drawn to the boating life since coming to Florida in 2001. She has been an office manager for many years and before coming to Whiteaker Yacht Sales managed a large 225 slip marina in Bradenton, Florida. Jeanelle lives in Bradenton with her husband, Mike and their two daughters and son.

With a career history in the building of custom single family homes, the transition for Tom, in helping his clients through the decision process of their new boat purchase, was a natural. Tom brings his skills as a business owner, a boat owner, an extensive blue-water / island cruising sailor along with his continuing relationship with Outbound Yachts to the Whiteaker Team. Having purchased and sold numerous new boats, Tom understands the financial magnitude of a "boat sale or purchase decision" and is committed to provide professional assistance and leadership throughout the process.

Whiteaker Yacht Sales image Preston Wright began his 35 year career in the marine industry, when he laid the keel on a 44 ft. wooden sailboat, working with native Moslem boat builders on Sibutu Island in the Southern Philippines. From there he worked as a shipwright at the famous Kettenburg Marine boatyard in San Diego, and as a Boat Foreman with Christensen Shipyards in Vancouver, WA.

Preston has sailed in the Pacific Northwest, Columbia River, Southern California, Baja Mexico, and recently he and his wife spent a year out cruising on a Tartan 37 from Long Island, NY to Georgetown in the Bahamas.

Preston holds a USCG Masters License, and has been a successful yacht broker before joining Whiteaker Yacht Sales.

Whiteaker Yacht Sales image Hayden Cochran has enjoyed sailing and racing sailboats since 1981, finishing second at the 1986 Buccaneer National Championships in Michigan. He crewed for the next ten years on a J-35, Gazzed Too, participating in buoy races and distance races on Long Island Sound. He and his wife, Radeen, have chartered many times on the Chesapeake and throughout the Caribbean. Starting in 1991, they sailed an Island Packet 27, Cinnamon, from Rock Hall, MD. In 2001, they bought an Island Packet 35, Island Spirit, sailed to New England for 9 summers, and enjoy cruising the ICW from Maine to the Bahamas. Hayden has crewed to Bermuda on numerous races, deliveries and instructional courses.

Hayden is an enthusiastic sailor and Island Packet owner. To encourage camaraderie amongst owners, Hayden developed two community websites for sharing information about Island Packet Yachts, www.IPPhotos.com and www.IPYOA.com. He shares the joy of ownership at every opportunity and will assist customers with their yachting dreams as a proud member of the Whiteaker Yacht Sales team.

Whiteaker Yacht Sales image Nancy Ballard is a native of Kemah, Texas. In 1987, Nancy joined the LPGA, her career as a professional golfer spanning over 26 yrs. During this time, Nancy fell in love with boating, owning both power and sail boats, she eventually found herself gravitating towards sailing. While sailing extensively throughout Galveston Bay and the Texas Gulf Coast, Nancy’s passion for sailing grew. In 2012, Nancy left Kemah aboard her Ta Chiao 56 sailboat to live the cruising life. Her cruising adventures include: two Gulf crossings, one Atlantic passage along the eastern seaboard to the beautiful Chesapeake Bay, and the exploration of the Bahama and Caribbean islands. After 3 years and nearly 5,000 offshore nautical miles of cruising, Nancy has now settled in the charming community of downtown St. Petersburg. Nancy’s passion for boating is contagious.
