Power & Sail Catamarans
CATAMARANS are a breed of their own, calling for special expertise and knowledge to help explain their virtues. It takes a special Buyer to appreciate their "Beauty." (The Seller already knows and has lived it). One who understands how economical they are, how stable their ride is and at rest, the roominess within the floor plan, the safety of fore and aft deck passage, the ease of docking maneuvering, etc. Our target audience has always been the "cruising" couple who's definition of "beauty" is elevated beyond "pretty," and isn't "function" beautiful?
We offer a selection of POWER & SAIL CATAMARANS and can speak the language. We have sold a variety of Catamarans including PDQ, Endeavour, Robertson & Caine, Leopard, Fountaine Pajot, Gemini, Lagoon, Manta, Scimitar, Seawind and World Cat. We welcome your listings and inquiries. Call us and let's talk CATs.
Stuart Yacht Sales specializes in brokerage PDQ's. In 1999, PDQ Yachts, Inc. built their first 34’ power catamaran. The vessel was designed to perform and deliver efficiency. A bi-product of the design was the incredibly spacious two-stateroom interior…just ideal for cruising. Today, the PDQ 34’ Powercat is the most economical to operate, mid-sized powercat on the market. Approximately 24 vessels were built per year and 112 are now “en route” on Canadian, American, Bahamian and Western Caribbean waterways. They are especially well-suited to cruise the American Great Loop, with shallow draft, low bridge clearance, fuel efficiency and easy handling.
In 2006, PDQ introduced the 34' Powercat's "big sister", the PDQ 41'. Her leading edge design and manufacturing has made her an industry show stopper.
The PDQ Sailing Catamarans started in 1988 with a 34' model and then grew to 36' in 1991. There were 100 36' sailing cats built. While the PDQ 36 Capella is well known for its performance sailing, the interior plan is another of her appealing features. She has a practical arrangement that is well suited for extended cruising. Her salon features a large folding table with comfortable wrap around settees and unobstructed visibility. Three steps take you down into each hull.
The starboard side features a full-size chart table amidships and a large molded head compartment with a shower aft. The port hull houses the galley, which includes a two-burner stove and oven, double sinks and a generous amount of counter space. Aft to port is a cabin that is designed with a full sized berth or massive storage. Her two double sleeping cabins are forward in each hull and have excellent ventilation. These spacious cabins include queen berths with overhead deck hatches and large hanging lockers. Her head is extremely spacious and her overall interior finish is comfortable and very beautiful.
There is a large seating area around the cockpit and two swivel captain chairs. Roomy, fast, safe, long distance cruiser--2'10" draft for exploring islands! Able to sit upright on keels/rudders for beaching and haul out.
