Tesoro T40 Walkthrough Review

If you’re looking for stylish, modern European day yacht, check out Tesoro’s new T40 (built by Vanguard Yachts) that looks like the type of boat James Bond be driving. The T40 joins the company’s first model, the T38, and is built in a yard that expects to produce just 24 hulls per year so you may want to reserve one early.

The T40 is a modern looking day boat design that provides a safe, fast and comfortable platform with a unique style and personality that presents an ideal vessel for cruising and day boating. Her spacious exterior can accommodate up to 12 passengers, and her interior features two separate cabins. The T40 is a great day cruiser and or weekender that can also be a premium super-tender for a superyacht, megayacht or giga yacht. The Tesoro Yachts T40 is built in the Murcian shipyard in Spain where Sir Ben Ainslie’s British America’s Cup team built their flying boats.

Propulsion And Performance

Propulsion includes twin Volvo Penta D4 300-hp diesels that deliver a 35-knot top speed and a 25-knot cruise so wherever James Bond goes, he’s sure to get there first.

Stern And Aft Cockpit

The Tesoro T40 has a unique hydraulic swim platform with rising steps that protect the outboards and provide great functionality and access to the water. She also features a large storage garage for water toys a stern solarium makes another oversize sunbed with the dinette table conversion added to a big hydraulic swim platform that raises for easy access from a dock or lowers into the water. It can also carry a small tender or wave runner.

Although the T40 has a tender garage, it looks like an upmarket tender to a superyacht itself. It seems like it should be ferrying an exclusive clientele to secluded coves but it also has accommodations with twin cabins and a head so it can easily function as the main vessel.

In the aft cockpit there is a dinette, part of which can convert into a sun pad.

Helm Controls And Console

The center console helm has seating for three and is covered with a hard T-top supported by substantial pillars. Twin Garmin 16 inch screens are set into the dash and you’ll find the boat equipped well with Mercury Vessel view, bow thruster, joystick controls and trim tabs. There is race-inspired seating for three with flip up bolsters. A minimal windshield is complimented by zip in Isinglass panels for added protection in the rain.

Interior Cabin

As mentioned previously, the cabin has two separate cabins with 4 sleeping berths, including 1 double bed and 1 twin bed. The cabin also features a full head and separate enclosed shower making her a viable overnighter or weekender, despite her day boat design and layout.

Bow Area

The bow is nothing but an enormous playpen for sun worshipers! Passengers will be pleased with a unique bow sunpad ideal for lounging in complete safety, even under way. Tesoro’s T40 is highly customizable with a choice of luxurious fabrics, woods, and color combinations.
