When the seaworthy, long-range trawler experts at Kadey-Krogen decided to launch this new product line, they turned to the marine industry’s go-to performance authority and luxury designer, Michael Peters, to bring something altogether new to the motor yacht market. The Summit Motoryachts brand lives under the parent company Kadey-Krogen Yachts, with the boats being constructed in the same place as all Kadey-Krogen’s have been, at Asia Harbor Yacht Builders in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. A long-standing, 25-year partnership with the privately-owned yard has produced a team of master craftsmen dedicated to building the finest yachts. Bringing in the best for each department has produced a brand and model that is distinguished and sure to become another prized American yacht on the waters of the world.

Virtual Video Tour

In the video below, viewers can experience a full walkthrough tour of this boat and get an idea of what the experience aboard is like, as Marilyn DeMartini shows us each area of the vessel and her key features from stern to bow.

Interior Cabin

The elevated interior—the custom-like finishes and classic yacht styling—was crafted by Espinosa Yacht Design and interior designer Katie Astras.

Aft Deck

The Summit 54’s tasteful aft deck is covered in teak, from the cap rails and the flooring, and features ultra leather upholstery and a colorful and light feel. A big swim platform off the transom can hold a full size pull out grill and a tender, and there is also easy engine access and extra storage space.

Galley And Salon

Moving forward, the yacht’s aft deck connects seamlessly with her galley via “tri-pocket” sliding doors, plus a big latch window. People in the galley can easily converse with those outside on the aft deck making for extended comfortable social zones and entertaining. The galley features stylish bar stools, storage under seats and handmade cabinetry. There is a blender at the bar and a powered, full-size, remote control pop-up pantry that makes storing all your food and snacks simple. The galley has stainless steel appliances and a modern yet classically clean look.

The galley ties in nicely with the dining room of the main salon and the helm area situation in the raised pilothouse. Here there is a great deal of headroom and a large teak dining table surrounded by a soft, C-shape seating area where the whole family can enjoy a meal together. Leather headers add style and sound proofing to this area and a pop-up flat screen that can be controlled by remote allows for great post-prandial viewing. Lots of natural light comes through the windows of the main salon, making this yacht feel very open and airy.

At The Helm

The helm is clean and logically laid-out, with a big helm station door that leads to the deck outside and also lets in air when needed. At the controls are seamlessly integrated Garmin screens, Cummins monitoring system, joystick controls and a remote control system that can be used for operating the boat when docking or anchoring. There’s a C-zone screen for onboard night cruising as well.

Bow Area

The foredeck of the Summit 54 is as much a social space as a spot for a peaceful siesta or nightly stargazing. Soak in the sights and the sun, or shelter in the shade, on the foredeck’s comfortable bow seating and reclining sun pad lounge that is equipped with cupholders and an optional canopy. Furthermore, the side decks are fully walkable—no sideways shuffling.

Sleeping Accommodations

The three berths and staterooms are located down below and feature a creative use of space to maximize onboard real estate. There is a bunk room that can double as a play space with a vanity and all rooms below feature pocket doors with a lock that can be set firmly in place when needed.

The VIP stateroom is in the bow, with twin hanging lockers and a private entrance into the day head. This suite has its own TV and windows to let in light, plus a walk-around queen berth, hanging locker and extra storage.

The master stateroom is down below towards the aft of the boat in the widest part of the vessel and features walnut cabinetry, leather headers, a desk and a tv that retracts. This luxurious suite is nearly 15 feet wide and has a very large ensuite head with a walk in shower. Plus the head itself closes off separately from the rest of the washroom for added convenience and privacy.

Always appreciated on a long-range cruiser is a full size washer dryer that makes life easier, so you don’t have to rely on the marina’s in town for cleaning your clothes.

Flybridge And Upper Deck Control Station

Up on the flybridge owners and guests will enjoy another great open zone for lounging and entertaining as well as running the vessel. The upper control station has twin captains chairs and an L-shape dining and lounging space, along with a cushioned sun-lounge forward of the controls. The rear of the flybridge deck was designed with a davit to raise and lower the tender when required. From up here, there is great visibility for docking or enjoying scenic views while underway or at anchor.

The Summit 54 achieves a smart, chic and comfortable layout with an inviting aft deck, freeing flybridge, luxurious sleeping accommodations and a relaxing foredeck sun loungers. She is ideal for family and friends who wish to explore the long distance cruising and trawler life, and who may went to get where they’re going a little bit earlier. She is a comfortable classic motor yacht that is refined yet simple and offers a luxurious lifestyle for all those aboard.
