The Pardo 38 is the newest model in the builder’s luxury walkaround boat line which prior to her release consists of the 60, 50, 43 and 40. The 38 was designed and developed for greater maneuverability and sporty handling and makes an ideal platform for the adventurous yacht owner to cruise around island hopping and weekending. She also hits the sweet spot for yacht owners getting into the walkaround luxury cruising market or downsizing from larger yachts. She offers flexibility, an efficient drive and effortless maintenance, with options for powerful outboards or sterndrives. Comfort remains high-priority for the Pardo developers.
Take a look at our full walkthrough review of this boat in the video below with reviewer Marilyn DeMartini.
In the video above, Marilyn points out that new owners may be particularly drawn to this model due to her outboard power options, The vessel we hopped onboard was rigged with triple Mercury 300HP outboards making her capable of a 42 knot top speed and 34 knot cruising speeds. Higher horsepower outboard options are available. The Volvo V6 gasoline engines are the standard option, with Volvo D4 300 or 440 engines as another.
From the aft deck forward this luxury yacht is laid out for entertaining. Set up for sun-lovers with a large sunpad and versatile adjustable seats that offer maximum comfort and many configurations. Easy boarding from her swim platform ladder and aft deck starboard dive door transitions effortlessly into an area that provides a flexible summer kitchen entertainment and food preparation with tucked away cockpit cabinetry, complete with refrigerator, freezer, storage, sinks and cooking surfaces. A fold-up table drops electrically and of course she has a JL audio system throughout.
There is a built in shure shade to help shade the aft deck, and the supports for the fiberglass T-top are incorporated into the console which makes it easy to walk around up to the bow. Her flexiteak floor means easy maintenance with a classic rich look.
At The Helm
At the helm, there are beautiful upholstered seats and a classy leather-covered steering wheel with a carbon fiber dash and glossy black dual Simraad screens, Mercury joystick and trim and bow thrusters. A Fusion stereo controls the sound system and overall the main helm controls are clean, elegant and simple.
Down below is a larger than expected cabin that features a queen berth, hand-built oak veneer cabinetry and a large wet head with a self draining floor and modern porcelain sink. A guest bunk stateroom is ideal for children or guests.
The bow area is a great place to room in the bow to catch some raise with comfortable seating and attention to detail. Nice features include an automatic windlass anchor and pushpin fender holders.
Pardo has created another addition to their range of elegant walkwaround yachts ideal for day cruising or island hopping. The 38 is a striking sight at dock, on the sand bar or challenging the open water. For the day, for the weekend or for an extended stay, Pardo escorts in prestigious Italian style.
