Axopar Brabus 900 Shadow Black Ops Superboat Walkthrough Review

Join YachtWorld and Marilyn DeMartini along with Roger Moore from Nautical Ventures for a full walkthrough video review of the Axopar and Brabus superboat, the 2021 The Brabus Shadow 900 “Black Ops” edition.

Vessel Overview

So, what exactly is the Brabus Shadow 900 all about? Well, it began when Axopar Boats and German high performance & luxury car manufacturer BRABUS formed a new, cutting-edge alliance to build the line of BRABUS Marine superboats. Premium Axopar vessels form the basis and underpinnings of all of these high-octane, over-the-top yachts. This vessel is packed with technical innovation and blistering performance. She offers adrenaline-fueled excitement, superior performance, acceleration and torque, providing an ultimate luxurious driving experience.

She is also a perfect choice for owners of larger yachts who wish to have a safe way to transport passengers to and from shore no matter what the weather may be. Of course, she’s a fully-capable explorer in her own right for those wishing to operate a compact easy to maneuver sport yacht themselves on family quests for private adventures of their own.

Styling

Swathed in ‘sport-pattern’, cool grey and black BRABUS Fine Leather® and Dinamica with contrasting red accents and stitching, the front cabin with a ‘queen size’ sleeping accommodation has a sense of space and luxury more associated with a supremely comfortable lounge. Extend the lounge experience with an optional integrated infotainment unit, comprising a 42-inch flat screen 4K TV and Apple TV connectivity to mention a few of the options available.

Propulsion System – Blistering Power

The Shadow 900 range benefits from Mercury Marine’s latest dual 450R Verado XL 4.6 litre V8 FourStroke engines with Joystick Piloting for easy docking and manoeuvring. At just 320 kg a piece these masterpieces of technology weigh some 135kg less than their nearest competitor and have 40 per-cent more torque than their 400hp equivalent, the perfect engines for the Shadow 900’s. The power to weight ratio for each engine is best in class, improving hole-shot acceleration and creating the renowned driving experience of a Shadow 900.

Layout And Key Features

The Brabus 900 Shadow features a flexible layout with multi-storage solutions for adventure gear, a larger foredeck and more versatile social areas, with improved freedom of movement all around the boat.

Her low freeboard makes it simple to step aboard and her shallow draft and tilting outboards enable access to skinnier waters that most larger yachts cannot reach. This is a key features that will enable owners to discover more hidden, off-the-beaten-path places and idyllic remote anchorages.

At The Helm – A Super Modern Console

The Brabus 900 Shadow features a clean and ergonomic helm that resembles a supercar more than anything else. Everything on the dashboard is close at hand with integrated touchscreen technology and selected backlit switches. The boat’s newly developed multifunction steering wheel with finger-tip controls give her an extremely modern-looking console.

Cabin Interior

Below deck there’s a front lounge replete with nifty Gullwing doors and an optional enclosed head and toilet compartment which makes the boat truly up to the task for longer days out on the water. And those Gullwing dooes truly elevate the feeling of space inside, providing better access and interaction with the outdoors with an influx of incoming light that gives passengers a unique connection with the natural environment outdoors.

Brabus also offers the same Aft Cabin accommodation package as available on the standard Axopar version, with the interior treatment only found on a Brabus. This includes extensive use of exclusive BRABUS® “Fine Leather” and detailing, ambient LED lighting, reading and floor lights, spring bed mattress in grey/black patterned Dinamica upholstery, 2 x flush roof hatches with integrated blackout and mosquito net, BRABUS® leather carpet in black, Illuminated BRABUS® door sill..
