Sails

The HPS is a extremely fast and can comfortably go 10 knots speeds under sail or power from the proven Shannon 21st Century patented hull form.  The hull form of the Shannon HPS, also known as the High-Performance Sailor, was envisioned to offer the pleasures of sailing blended with the benefits of a trawler. She’s a unique motorsailor, unlike anything available. A knowledgeable yachtsman with a keen eye for design will notice the purposeful configuration of her under body and systems which ensure efficiency and performance both under power and sail. A fine entry forward with flares in the waist and flatter sections carry the wide 17’ 6” beam aft to produce a waterline that is nearly the entire length of the boat. This ensures not only form stability under sail with minimal heeling motion, but also an astounding amount of interior volume and living space. The shallow draft of only 4’ 9” enables the Shannon High Performance Sailor to reach destinations unheard of for a sailing yacht of this size. The Harlen Wood will easily make 9 knots at a 35 to 40-degree wind angle in just 15 knots of wind with less 15 degrees of heeling motion.
