The Catalac 9M is a sturdily built coastal cruiser. It was the
original affordable cruising catamaran and remains so to this day.
The hulls are solid fiberglass with a hard chine "V"
section hulls with flared bows to limit spray. They rely solely on the
deep V for lateral resistance to prevent leeway.
The boat easily sleeps 6-7 adults and includes a full galley.
The boat is powered by twin 12HP diesels.
The Catalac 9M was formally introduced in 1970 and was in
prduction for 15 years. If you're familiar with the Gemini Catamarans
built by Tony Smith (of Performance Catamarans) then you won't be
surprised by the similarity as Tony worked for the designer of the
Catalacs, Bill O'Brian.
