48' on deck, traditional staysail schooner by well-known west coast
yacht designer, Edson B. Schock. Launched in 1934 for owner John
Farrow, L.A. film producer. 1953-1957, William F. holcomb
circumnavigation. Blue water award to him in 1957. Extensive sail
and racing career on the west coast U.S.A.
Launched as Mavourneen Mary, later renamed Landfall II, she is
featured in a book "To Think We're Doing This For Fun."
Restoration began with a haulout in 2004. Much was done over 2
years, (new deck and deck beams, replanking as needed, new keel bolts,
etc.). Additional work went on and she went back in the water in 2014.
She is still very much a project but what has been done is olid.
For sale at a fraction of what has been spent by the past and present owners.
Her unique maritime history coupled with that she is still alive
bodes well for those who are dedicated to keeping alive these
wonderful wooden craft.
